I don't think it was that accurate in terms of really defining what was accomplished in one of the greatest eras of basketball, but also by two of the greatest players – and one could even put that aside and say the greatest team of all time. I didn't think those things stood out in the documentary. I thought it was more about Michael trying to uplift himself and to be glorified [the series was co-produced by Jordan's Jump 23 company]. I think it also backfired to some degree in that people got a chance to see what kind of personality Michael had.

Have you spoken to him about your opinion of series?

Yeah. I told him I wasn't too pleased with it. He accepted it. He said, "hey, you're right". That was pretty much it.

lol I hate to break it to you, but The Last Dance was a Michael Jordan doc, not a Chicago Bulls doc. It was also an accurate representation of how the public perceived him at the time. Obviously he wasn't going to focus on any negative aspects outside of his competitiveness. Anyone who was familiar with his career before they watched this already knew about his personality. The goal was to win championships, not to make friends.

Maybe the younger generation who watched it were offended by his lack of social justice activism, or his lack of teammate friends? The fact that Jordan is now made fun of in memes for finding things to "take personally" shows the disconnect between the past generations and the kids today.

Today taking something personally or using anger as motivation is considered "being shook". "U mad bro?"

Now it's about getting all your superstar friends together and winning rings that way. The doc probably didn't resonate with certain people because they don't understand the dynamic of that era.

Hate to break it to you - I am not Scottie Pippen. Also, pretty sure Scottie is not from this era. He said what he said.

It's like people being afraid to say Brady is better than Montana. MONTANA NEVER LOST IN THE SUPERBOWL!!

This is such a lame argument. Tom has more rings than Joe. MJ has more rings than LeBron. So your point is garbage.

If we took 2 teams and in a 10 year span team a went 6-0 in the Finals with 4 1st round losses and team b went 4-6 in the Finals team a is more dominant. No one in their right mind would say the team with 2 less titles was a bigger dynasty.

I would say the team that made 10 finals would've been better

And let me know when jordan faced a team like the warriors. I'll wait

If the infomercial was about Jordan then I'm not sure why Scottie not going back on court for that 1 play was in it. That's probably why Scottie was pissed. It was a very Kevin Durant thing to do. Throwing the guy who you couldn't win without under the bus.

Regardless tho - I lol'd @ your monologue about the new generation. I am Generation X - so I grew up in that era and there are strengths and weaknesses of every generation.

Imagine Lebron losing in the first round lol

Imagine Jordan saying he was "hurt" by an ex-teammates comments about him.

Did Lebron say that? Backstory?

Apparently you didn't hear about LeBron getting his feelings hurt over Kyrie praising Durant, saying "This is the first time in my career I can look down and be like, 'That motherf*cker can make that shot too.'"

Damn, I didn't know that hurt Lebron's feelings. What an entitled hoe. He's kind of like Scott Burrell. He thinks everyone should kiss his ass. More reason why MJ and Kobe get universal respect LBJ will never get

MJ is the best ever. Bar none.

This. People give him more respect and like him more because he is a dick. Majority of the general public doesn't buy into b******t wokeness, or overt BFF behavior in sports. a*****es in sports like Kobe and MJ are needed. Hopefully when Bron leaves in a couple years we get some competitive a*****es back in the fold. He's softened up the league

Only you. You probably think Buffalo had the best dynasty too. As far as the Warriors go super teams are a result of guys like LeBron taking the easy path. Sorry if they did it better.

Great post

I don't care if it was a Jordon bio or a Bulls documentary. All I know is that I couldn't wait for the next installment each week. Even today when there is nothing on I find myself watching them all over again. The whole idea is, "are you entertained"? Hell Yeah!

Me too. Great TV. Did better ratings than actual NBA games I heard. Such an amazing documentary, amazing time in the NBA and a one of a kind talent in MJ. I loved how they were slamming Miller Lites after the game. Relatable, masculine type guys. No fancy wine club BS.

All it took was having the best team ever and then adding one of the best players ever after they lost to.. lebron
Jordan still goat, unless LBJ wins one more then I see it as 1A 1B.

Giving that accomplishment solely to Lebron is a media thing. It took a wild combination of choking, injuries, and Kyrie going insane for 3 games for the Cavs to pull that off.

Lebron cried and got Draymond suspended for game 5 (sorry but a complete p***y move) leaving only Iggy to guard Lebron all game. Iggy could hardly walk from back spasms in game 6, leaving only Draymond to guard Lebron for that game.

That swung the momentum completely going into game 7, and put an insane amount of pressure on a team that was trying to complete the greatest season ever. Cavs were playing with house money and Kyrie is the one that put the series away. Lebron played great when Draymond missed game 5 and Iggy couldn't move during game 6, but more credit should go to Kyrie and the suspensions/back spasms/stars aligning for Lebron and Cavs.

They never had the best team ever. They lost to the Cavs negating their 73 win season, lost to Toronto and even had to go 7 to beat the Rockets too with Durant. Got lucky in that series because Paul went out down 3-2. In the end they only won 3 titles in 5 years. The Bulls had the best single season in 96 and three peated. That's not to say they'd beat them head to head but they accomplished more. Were more dominant.
