He doesn't have the flash and dash but he has the control of a Larry Bird. He's a pleasure to watch.

Val is a wolves fan guy wouldn't know good basketball if it hit him in the face

I feel you, but I don't know if that is it... Remember when LBJ when to Miami? It was such a huge thing. Now no one cares now about superstars linking up because we are immune to it. Also, this year how many teams really have a chance? Two? The NBA regular season doesn't matter and load management further proves that

Too many games is one factor. Lack of parity is another. The NFL is king and the league having more control ends up being a good thing in the long run. The last couple of years it seemed as if the NBA was taking some of the NFL's market share, and they got a little high and mighty politically. I'm glad they are getting some humble pie. I hope they make some changes. LBJ, shut up about politics and every social issue... and take back some control of player movement, etc.

Yea all decent points. I don't think load management is great for the game at all. I don't think lack of parity is a problem. Warriors and Lebron have been all we've had, Lakers and Spurs dominated a decade, before that it was the Bulls Lakers, Celtics etc. There has never been parity in NBA, it always been about star players driving ratings. KD move to GS not included - that was unlike anything we have ever seen.
Less games and no back to backs. Fixes stupid load management issue

DO IT

I agree w this 100%. You do not need 82 games.

Yup... make it 67 like it was that lockout year. No back to backs, and scheduled losses. Of course they won't do this because of the revenue loss.

Load management is a problem, but the players association and the players in general have too much control in the NBA

Jazz suck

Yes we do right now. We're basically Philly if we were an East team. That schedule is laughable.

Jazz suck in any conference

Lol Jazz would no doubt be a higher seed in the East than the 76ers.

lol
Clippers>>>Lakers

First of all, there is no super team this year...so super teams being bad for game/ratings doesn't even apply this season.
Secondly, NBA fans are relatively younger and live in the cities - where trend is to cut the cord and stream the game and talk about it on Twitter. NBA streams are the easiest to find and nba Twitter is on another level. If you're active on Twitter - it's clear that NBA is way more popular on Twitter than any other sport.
Lastly, NBA is the only American sport that is truly going to become a global sport in the next decade. That bodes very well for the long term future.

This doesn't mean NBA doesn't need to make changes. As others suggested - 82 game season is absurd. Also, since Warriors are in full tank mode...get them off National tv and put good teams on tv. Knicks shouldn't be on tv. Zion is injured..why are Pels on National TV? TNT and ESPN should be able to flex games. Also, Seattle and Vegas should have teams.

TNT and ESPN need to hire better commentators...and it'd help if they are not always b***hing about replays, refs, the league and the players. Reggie Miller was my fav player growing up but he shouldn't be commentating. Webber, Mark Jackson, Gundy are even worse.

And...NBA needs to put some games on NBC, FOX, ABC, and CBS every week. They can reach a lot more audience like the NFL.

Lonnie Walker lV, Wow!
Lol NBA ratings are at an all time low!?? Damn. How about we clean up the traveling mess then we can get back to the basics of this game? Idk the talent sure has dropped off IMO. Too many youngsters coming into the league that are far from ready.

Man imagine the NBA in say 5 years?? Wow probably will be a full on s**tshow

They never learned how to play the game. Just watching the best scorer in the game (Harden) dribble and eat the clock while the other 4 guys are standing still is what the young guys see and aspire to. No wonder ratings are down. I can't see the game going back to a team game only one on one and score to get the MAX.

Appreciate the work you put into this post but absolutely none of this entire post explains the reason for the drop from season to season.
