***2019-2020 NBA REGULAR SEASON THREAD***

Harden's game last night lol. He is the most unwatchable/unlikable superstar in NBA history as far as I am concerned.

People cant enjoy watching that. I refuse to believe anyone likes that

Secondly, NBA fans are relatively younger and live in the cities - where trend is to cut the cord and stream the game and talk about it on Twitter. NBA streams are the easiest to find and nba Twitter is on another level. If you're active on Twitter - it's clear that NBA is way more popular on Twitter than any other sport.
Lastly, NBA is the only American sport that is truly going to become a global sport in the next decade. That bodes very well for the long term future.

This doesn't mean NBA doesn't need to make changes. As others suggested - 82 game season is absurd. Also, since Warriors are in full tank mode...get them off National tv and put good teams on tv. Knicks shouldn't be on tv. Zion is injured..why are Pels on National TV? TNT and ESPN should be able to flex games. Also, Seattle and Vegas should have teams.

TNT and ESPN need to hire better commentators...and it'd help if they are not always b***hing about replays, refs, the league and the players. Reggie Miller was my fav player growing up but he shouldn't be commentating. Webber, Mark Jackson, Gundy are even worse.

And...NBA needs to put some games on NBC, FOX, ABC, and CBS every week. They can reach a lot more audience like the NFL.

Appreciate the work you put into this post but absolutely none of this entire post explains the reason for the drop from season to season.

This. It's a massive one season drop. No one gives a damn about the NBA regular season this year, for the most part.

Lol NBA ratings are at an all time low!?? Damn. How about we clean up the traveling mess then we can get back to the basics of this game? Idk the talent sure has dropped off IMO. Too many youngsters coming into the league that are far from ready.

Man imagine the NBA in say 5 years?? Wow probably will be a full on s**tshow

Lol? Nba is not at all time low, they just dipped a bit this year. As far as talent goes, this is by far the best talent the league has ever seen.

NBA ratings dipped hard cause the warriors are in the dumpster, watch when the team rises again so will viewers
Markelle Fultz not only set a career high with 20 last night, be also set a career high in games played in a season last night as well. Hopefully he's on his way to removing the "bust" label from his name.

He doesn't have the flash and dash but he has the control of a Larry Bird. He's a pleasure to watch.

It's amazing watching him. Scary part is he will get better.

You don't think putting Warriors G-league squad due to several injuries on TV over and over again has anything to do with drop in ratings this year? Or showing Pels on National TV so many times and Kawhi load managing during national TV games is not a reason for poor ratings? Hmm...

And, more and more ppl cutting cords doesn't explain the reason for a drop from season to season? We have more options to streaming than ever before.

I absolutely believe that the Warriors being crappy has to do with it. But this: "so super teams being bad for game/ratings doesn't even apply this season." doesnt really explain the ratings drop at all. You said it being bad for the league doesnt apply, so why would a once superteam being bad matter at all?

Kawhi load managed last year too, so another irrelevant point.

Pels on national TV has slight relevance, but in no way can be used to explain the massive ratings dip.

And yes, streaming cuts into tv ratings, but you cant tell me that there has been such a massive increase in streamers over a 4 month period of time. There isnt a new streaming service available since the end of last season.

Clippers have way more games on National TV than Raptors ever did. Also, West is far more interesting than East again so when Clippers game are on TV - they're taking games away from Lakers, Denver, Houston, Utah, Mavs. So, not an irrelevant point.

There are many reasons for tv ratings to be down, not just one. NBA ratings were down last year too from the previous year.

You think there are no super teams this year? What do you call the Clippers and Lakers? Lol

Is streaming up this year? I haven't heard that... even if it is, no way it comes close to a 20 percent drop in ratings from last year. That's almost hard to believe. Insane.

NFL is more popular than the nba right now on Twitter... bottom line, sports leagues make $$$ from tv. No one is watching the nba right now. NFL is king and is back to dominating the nba.

Finally, are the Dubs America's team now? Even if they had Steph and Klay, that would make up for this historic drop in ratings? No way

The FA collision stuff, lack of parity, and load management have all contributed to a meaningless regular season. Literally doesn't matter and this year only two teams have a chance for the chip barring injury. Look for HUGE changes in the offseason and Silver and co. shake things up to try and make the regular season more meaningful. It's hitting the pocketbook when ratings dip like this

Neither lakers or Clippers are super teams. This year was dubbed as The Year of Duos.

Never said streaming is the sole reason for drops in ratings.

Along with Klay and Steph...Durant, Zion, Wall, And "Kawhi" are injured. When was the last time NBa had so many injured stars to start the season?

And NFL is def. not bigger than NBA on Twitter. Lol cmon dude...NBA dominates social media when it comes to sports.
