***2019-2020 NBA REGULAR SEASON THREAD***

"Inmates runnin' the prison" is not a business philosophy that will endear the game to the fans. Elite players want to play with their buddies, everyone wants more money, yet play fewer games, and have their injuries pampered more. Until December, it's obvious that the players simply don't put anywhere near 100% into games. If you've been to games, at least 2 or 3 players are obviously hung over or just spent from bangin' their local booty calls. This is not endearing to bettors, who are among the most hardcore of fans. Yup, the NBA has a problem to reign in.

Neither lakers or Clippers are super teams. This year was dubbed as The Year of Duos.

Never said streaming is the sole reason for drops in ratings.

Along with Klay and Steph...Durant, Zion, Wall, And "Kawhi" are injured. When was the last time NBa had so many injured stars to start the season?

And NFL is def. not bigger than NBA on Twitter. Lol cmon dude...NBA dominates social media when it comes to sports.

I'm not sure who dubbed it that, but those are two super teams that are much better than the rest of the association.

We agree, load management is very bad for the NBA and makes it obvious that a lot of the regular season is meaningless. When you have stars missing a quarter of the games when they're healthy enough to play, what's the message to the consumer?

On Twitter, whoever is bigger depends on the community of who the consumer chooses to follow. For me currently, I have more nfl stuff that pops up. Will probably change come late February.

Bottom line, I think we agree that the nba has problems, big changes are coming, load management is trash, and the regular season of the nba is meaningless

Good post. I have been a hardcore nba fan since a little kid, and this year I feel less connected to the nba. I would always look forward to the tnt games for example and watch religiously, just don't care as much right now and would prefer to watch highlights and checkout box scores after games

You think the league is better off when great players waste their career on s**t teams or irrelevant teams? AD going to the Lakers, RW going to Hou, PG13 going to the Clippers, Kemba to Boston, KD also leaving OKC, all of this is much better for business.
With the Harden dunk debacle and now the LBJ no call back to back the NBA has to be sweating..

Celtics and Denver game is on ESPN tomorrow instead of Clippers vs. Bucks

Even though first game is pretty good - second game has the star power to attract higher viewership.

...yea, that's another factor. Would still watch Giannis vs PG than anyone on Celtics or Denver.

Scheduling has been so terrible this season. Why isn't there a game on TNT right now?

Imo...scheduling has been one of the biggest reasons for poor TV ratings.
