Thanks. Both good stuff.

Our team culture is great, especially with a new coach.

Yeah, the issue was he was kind of in the way.

Not mad
San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) General Manager Mike Grier announced today that the club has acquired forward Shane Bowers from the New Jersey Devils in exchange for forward Thomas Bordeleau.

"We're excited to add a former first-round pick in Shane to our organization," said Grier. He brings good size, strong skating and competes at both ends of the ice."

Bowers, 25, scored 17 points (three goals, 14 assists) in 65 games with the Utica Comets of the American Hockey League (AHL) and appeared in four games of NHL action with the Devils last season. In his career, Bowers has amassed 97 points (44 goals, 53 assists) in AHL competition, splitting his tenure in the league between Utica, the Providence Bruins and the Colorado Eagles. He scored a career-high 27 points with Colorado in 2019-20 and has reached double-digit goals twice in the league, including 2019-20 and 2023-24, his first season with Utica.

The NHL and MLB always have this kind of fringe player churn. Bordeleau wasn't anywhere near the top of the prospects the Sharks have at center, and I think they are leaning toward bigger wings now.
Signed Eklund, got a good pairing for Askarov, signed 3 dudes who don't move the needle, but will provide solid depth. Not bad

Free agency only started, SJ not sniffing playoffs this year anyway, might as well let some of the up n coming youngsters play ...

MG saving all his money for next offseason.

If they tried to make a "splash" in free agency it wouldn't have made any sense.

We don't know how it will be once the season comes around (and it will probably change a bunch in the first month) but right now it looks like there will be as few as 3 guys who are 30+ years old.

This year is going to be particularly interesting to see the growth of Celebrini, Smith, Dickinson, etc. This could be really fun.

It's going to be awesome getting the opportunity to watch these guys grow up and build as a young team (into their prime)... 2/3 years from now Sharks could be back to playoff hockey and be dominant again

Orlov fits the veteran leader position to some extent.

Kinda funny watching the team sign players just to sign player to get to the floor to some extent.

We still a year away
I hope we get a chance to see Leo Wallenius along with Dickinson with the Sharks sooner than later. Wallenius is small for defenseman and even though he shoots left he can play right.

Mukhamadullin and Cagnoni are almost certain to start the year on the Sharks.

All 4 are lefties :)

I think Celebrini's line is going to have Smith on it to start but may get his own line later. Looking forward to the big forwards Haltunnen and Chernyshov making it to the sharks, since with Celebrini and Smith they need some front line beef :)

There is a ton of talent everywhere on the roster, but they are going to take some time to get adjusted to the NHL game.
