The Shark Tank 🦈

I forgot Musty ... he might make it to the big team some time next year too.

Mukhamadullin and Cagnoni are almost certain to start the year on the Sharks.

All 4 are lefties :)

I think Celebrini's line is going to have Smith on it to start but may get his own line later. Looking forward to the big forwards Haltunnen and Chernyshov making it to the sharks, since with Celebrini and Smith they need some front line beef :)

There is a ton of talent everywhere on the roster, but they are going to take some time to get adjusted to the NHL game.

Do you like Misa's chances of making the Sharks right away this upcoming season? He's played with Chernyshov in the past and heard they looked good playing together during the recent development camp. Could be part of a very tough line to deal with.

I think it might depend a little on what happens with Smith. If he goes back to center it probably makes it a little harder for Misa.

That said I think Misa gets a chance to start in the NHL but I think it's more likely that it takes a little time before he gets to the big team later in the season (assuming he plays well which is the way to bet).

Grier said they are still looking for a winger and there are basically no free agents that can reasonably play on any of the top 3 lines, so they have to be looking at trades for a wing and trades are always ... interesting.
The team has 8 NHL experienced defensemen under contract for the big team right now, only 1 of them us under contract beyond this season. Bowen Byram of the Sabers may be available for a trade ... but they will want top 6 front line talent for him. I don't know that the talent the Sharks have they will be willing to trade, but I am sure they are interested in Byram ... they have to be.

Heard the Blues might be interested in Byram. Would be a great add for the Sharks to their blueline if they could get him. Sharks get him and then add a 1-3 line forward (heard they're interested in doing so) and call it an offseason.

Yeah the distinction is the Blues want to make a move and win this year, the Sharks can aim more for the future so the trades they will propose will be different.

The Sharks BY FAR have the best non-NHL pool of prospects. The Sharks 6th best prospect would be top 3 on most teams. It would hurt a little to trade them away, but a couple of those prospects and one of the few good vets the Sharks have might get him to San Jose.

New CBA allows an extra goalie on the roster. I like it when the league allows more players to be with the big team.
Grier says they are most likely done for the offseason, so this is the team. He also said he expects Dickinson to make the team.

Also, I didn't know Leddy refused a trade to the Sharks, so he was cut, and the Sharks claimed him ... which is a bizarre transaction.

It's why I said "Maybe" ... Granlund was on a line with Will Smith, they moved Smith up to the Celebrini line. If Skinner meshes with Smith they might keep him around. They want Smith to be on his own line but found that he was better next to Celebrini than Granlund. That's one of the things I'm looking forward to ... how are the lines going to work out with Celebrini, Eklund, Smith, Musty, Chernyshov, Graf, Halttunen, Dickenson, Mukhamadullin, Cagnoni, and more all under 23 years old ... but dumping Skinner at the deadline along with potentially Orlov, Toffoli, Klingberg etc. will mean things are going well enough with the kids they don't need the adults anymore, or it will mean that the kids are struggling to deal with the vets and they are shopping for new vets :)
