This. He's the only one on that list that is a better passer than scorer. He's definitely the best all-around player the game has ever seen.
And, it's crazy that he has a 50-50 shot at all time scoring record and is likely to finish at least at no. 2 if he stays relatively healthy.
But, there will still be haters who will go meh because they think he's done it because he came straight from high school. Kobe went thru this bs too. It gave Jordan, Wilt, Kareem and Malone tremendous advantage to go to college and refine their game and hit the ground running when they got to NBA - therefore they were able to do it in fewer games.
Lebron and Kobe made the jump straight from high-school and IMO their achievement of reaching 30000 is even greater.
Definitely the best all around player? I think you would have a big argument on that one. Michael Jordan was the best offensive player and the best defensive player in the game. Lebron could never say that.
LBJ's been the best defensive player, probably not anymore, but from 20-30, he was the best. He's been by far the best player in the NBA as well for almost a decade now, offense and defense.
I keep looking for Lebrons name on the DPOY awards but cant find it. I didnt say he wasnt the best player in the league in the past decade. No one will debate that. However, I personally think its crazy talk to say he is "definitely the best all around player the game has ever seen". Honestly, I doubt you would find too many people who are old enough to have seen MJ play in the 80s who would agree with you on this one..
Come on... the best defensive player when he was 30? You cant really believe that. Also saying "probably not anymore" is pretty funny. He isnt close to the Draymond, Kawhi, KD, Gobert, Davis, and quite a few more at this point in his career
DPOY is mostly given to Cs, even Jordan only won one, when he should've had way more. LBJ can guard 1-4 and even some 5s. It's great that Gobert can block some shots and guard a C, but he's not gonna guard the other teams best offensive player with the game on the line and do it well like LBJ has done. And he's just as good as Draymond and Kawhi at playing D right now. He's 33 and he's got a lot of millage, he's not gonna wear his body out against the Hornets in December.
And I say all around player because there's nothing he can't do. Jordan wasn't a good 3 point shooter and could only guard 1-3. LBJ does everything, there's not a weakness to his game.
Lebron isnt close to the defender that Draymond and Kawhi is right now. No way.
