Not sure what the CBA says but seems logical. If a guy takes a year off and them comes back his contract picks up where it left off so why not try to argue Kawhi took the year off and them demanded a trade.

No FAs would go there if the Spurs moved forward with this. NBA players and their union have WAY more power than the NFL. These guys and their agents demand trades behind closed doors all the time.

This situation is too bizarre, the one obvious piece of info is that Kawhi is having a major disconnect w/ the team.

I'll take Kawhi over everyone except maybe 6 players.

If Philly lands Lebron in the offseason - I think they should go for Kawhi. They can keep Embiid, Ben, and Saric and still get Kawhi.

If Philly lands Lebron in the offseason - I think they should go for Kawhi. They can keep Embiid, Ben, and Saric and still get Kawhi.

LeBron, Simmons and Kawhi on the same team wouldn't work. Too similar of players. Kawhi would have accept being a D-and-3 player because he wouldn't get the ball much.

Both Simmons and Lebron are pass first players. It'll work beautifully.

And defense will be the best in the league.

Imo both Lakers and Philly will be ready to pounce if Kawhi wants out.

Kawhi is different but pretty similar. He is a wing who gets to the rim. Simmons is averaging 16 drives a game which is top 10. LeBron is over 11 which is top 25. Last year Kawhi was 20th in the league, just ahead of LeBron. LeBron is also 2nd in iso plays while Kawhi was 17th last year.

This is all without touching on how Simmons is a horrendous pairing with LeBron. Simmons can't shoot. LeBron does all that iso because he gets to the rim or gets his teammates a wide open spot up shot. He's the best there's ever been at that. Simmons would be a void and the defense could slack off him because he isn't a threat from the outside.

I've watched every game Simmons has played in professionally. Hes 100% a pass first guy

So Lebron can't be at his best if he's playing with a player who can't shoot 3s? Lol ok

When you put 3 guys with super high IQ - they'll almost always figure out a way to play together at a high level.
