He's already the owner, GM, coach, and player.

Sucks for Lue. He has had issues for a while now.

I'm not a big fan of his coaching (especially this year - his rotations have been awful) but he's a good guy.

Didn't the Warriors trade Ellis for an injured Bogut + Stephen Jackson (who they traded next day to Spurs) - so they can tank that season to get a higher draft pick?

They traded Ellis to get a legit center and make room for Curry to be the guy in the backcourt. Hardly the same as what the 76ers did but good try.

Yes, in the long run. But, for that season - they wanted to tank and they did. You know this.

Bogut was hurt and so was Curry. Neither played a single game after the trade. Stephen Jackson was traded the next day. They were tryin' to lose games (and they did - lost all but 4-5 games rest of that season) because they would have lost their 1st rd pick if it wasn't in top 6 or 7.

Sixers took the losing to the extreme. I never said Warriors did the same thing. But, Warriors tanked that season.

Interesting game tonight. Portland vs Houston. Game is in Portland and both teams had the previous day off so no back to back disadvantage.

Sure we all know Bogut was hurt. If he had been completely healthy they never could have gotten him for Ellis. The Warriors made that deal for the long term goal of having a center and making Steph the man. They didn't make it simply to tank. It did help them get the 7th pick in the draft no doubt but it wasn't the tank job you are trying to suggest.

I think it's hilarious though that you bring this up a response to my point on the 76ers. Everyone knows exactly what Philly was doing for multiple seasons and it got them Embiid, Simmons,and Fultz. Teams tank to a small extent every season. No team perfected it like Philly.

He's a great guy and this sucks on a personal level....but I agree, I've never been a fan of his coaching. He continues to stick to Longabardi's defensive scheme that didn't work in PHX and damn sure isn't working in CLE. They switch everything despite not having the personnel to do it now that TT is a shell of his former self. As you mention, his rotations are horrid, he plays guys for way too long and they end up gassed, never makes any adjustments unless a player is injured and is forced to do something different. It is mind boggling how he continued to start TT and JR despite them both being statistically the worst starters at their positions. The problem is, his assistants aren't very good either although Drew was decent up until that last year in MIL.

With that said, players need to take some blame as well and it starts with LBJ. He is clearly coasting defensively and I'm not sure I've seen him legitimately contest a 3 pointer all year other than opening night when he forced an air ball from Kyrie at the buzzer (but he obviously wasn't going to allow him to knock that down in his face given the circumstances). However, we have seen this before. They were 21st in regular season defense last year but tightened up in playoffs and were 5th until GS smacked them around.

PHI has been fun to watch this year. A good mix of young stars with complimentary vets and solid coaching. Their future is certainly bright
