A sane world would not see someone walk away from a (relatively) failed 5 year stint at a job having already trousered millions, with a $77 million payment for failing to achieve a national championship. Clearly the university has way, way, way more money than sense. And the payment is not offset against any future earnings! And, with the infrastructure in place and the recruitment potential, as well as the actual recruitment, clearly as a head coach Fisher is not what he thinks he is and certainly is not what A & M were paying for.

LOL. From his FSU days I couldn't stand him as a coach and I have always found A & M to be most dislikeable. So it seemed like a perfect match. But the buyout clause was always obscene and now it bites them in the ass. To be fired after winning 51-10 is a little odd, though.

Is anyone going to employ a man with that sort of money in his bank, to coach or will he be inflicting his opinions on us courtesy of one of the broadcasters?

It was clearly a stupid contract from day 1

its really hard to say players shouldn't be paid when their coach gets $70M guaranteed for being fired

should permit players to be paid a salary, create some sort of cap for parity (very loose cap), and tighten rules on NIL to be linked to bona fide marketing deals
