Patriotism is looked at as evil now. Hell our first gold medal was trashed by CNN and others.

Women's gymnastics always seems to bring it though. This Simone Biles we have on our team is supposed to be the goat.

Basketball shouldn't be an olympic sport. No other country is even remotely competitive. It's silly.

NFL hasn't even started yet though. I do have to admit this olympics seems way less compelling then any other I have watched. Harder to get into it for some reason, might be we are seeing less USA athletes in contention or something.

Lots of other forms of entertainment and maybe the heated elecion has something to do with it.

All of the above...

Plus this would have to have been the most negative build up to an Olympic games ever. Very little lead up time was spent hyping the event, the vast majority was spent tearing it down & questioning how Brazil was awarded the games in the first place.

Not gonna lie... As long as the athlete doesn't die or sustain injuries that reduce the quality of their life, it's fair game... The wreckages / stacks are great sports theatre.

Because it's an Olympic sport - the game has grown so much around the World. It's good for the game.

I do think US should only send young players. Like college players and NBA rookies and sophomores.

Honestly, I think the pre-Olympic hype was no existent. The stories I heard before the Olympics
-Russians are cheating
-Brazil is doing a s**tty job of hosting
-And there is some muslim American woman fencing. I saw on more advertisements than anyone else.


They really should have invested more money and time into creating a presence for the top athletes like Ledecky should have been all over advertisements for the Olympics and been a household name before the Olympics.
