Jarryd Hayne going to jail.

Well there ya go. I've just spent the last 15 hours driving across Japan, just checked into the hotel and logged in to see a lot has gone down since yesterday evening.

Oh well, bye Hayne. It was interesting while it lasted, kind of shame on you that you didn't stick around and fight for a spot, but maybe you could see the writing on the wall...

Good luck with whatever you end up doing next.

Hayne or no Hayne, the Niners are my team in the NFL, despite having found my way here following his story. Will probably be pretty quiet though, still got my NFL training wheels on.

Slight problem mate. World Rugby require you to be in their registered testing pool 6 months to be eligible to play," Ings tweeted,

The NFL is not a signatory to the WADA code, and as a result, Ings suggests that Hayne would not have passed the necessary testing within six months of competing at a WADA event, such as the Olympics.

Ings called the NFL performance-enhancing "badlands", saying Hayne had "no chance" of representing Fiji in the rugby sevens in Rio.

Seems to be some opposing views that he may be able to as he is a "new" player to the code and not a returning player. Still will have to participate in a strict pre games testing regime if that is the case

Fairfax Media understands that Hayne will be recognised as a new player, not a retired player which would allow him to play under the WADA rules.
There also appears to be a loophole that will allow Hayne to play if he agrees to be placed in a testing pool that would see him subjected to stringent testing in the lead-up to the Olympics.

However, the leader of Fiji's Olympic Committee said their policies do not require athletes to go through a six-month period before representing the country.

"Every athlete who becomes a squad member and then finally a Team Fiji member is aware that at some stage they could be randomly chosen to be drug tested," FOC secretary general Lorraine Mar told Reuters.

"There is no criteria that they have to be tested a number of times. So that's not a consideration, but the athlete needs to be aware they could be drug tested."

It does look like there's more to it than Ings said

lol at people acting like this is a big loss to our team. double lol at the posters "embarrassed' by niner fans. we have been pounded over the head by people who breathlessly claim this guy will be god for us but of course was garbage, as proven by the point no one picked him up last year. i find it so funny that so many alleged niner fans are so quick to point out our rookies are garbage. our young wide outs are garbage, coaches are garbage etc etc without even seeing them play or coach...... but after seeing the aussie fumble and bumble around they refuse to think he is crap. oh the irony. no shock in the names of the niner posters who are suddenly best friends of the aussie posters. what do i expect from them? thank god this stuff is over and we can get back to serious things

Jarryd Hayne is immediately eligible to play for the Fiji rugby sevens during this week's HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series in London, the World Rugby association announced on Monday.

Hayne will also be eligible to play in the Summer Olympics if he remains in compliance with the World Anti-Doping Agency, according to the World Rugby.
