My Texas poker membership just came through since my father had a ten gallon hat and watched bonanza. The Texans have given me a great opportunity to make the team so I need to work hard to qualify by playing in the Brisvegas world championship and get my poker skills up prior to the world game............

Well played Rabs. Well played.

It was an incredible game, heartbreaking as it was for Broncos fans. These two teams just keep producing amazing contests.

yep it was

glad my missus taped it for me, listened to the last 20 mins of normal time on my way home from work and ran inside to see thurston square it up at 20 all, then a cracker extra time
Wow. Interesting that two QLD teams can make this game look so good. One of the best games. Sorry for Broncos since they were on top for majority of the game but the JT and LoLo effect was just too good. Broncos came a long way considering their mid season slump and halves combo regression.
Good chance cows beat sharks next week but I reckon will run out of puff for GF. Raiders to win IMO.
Wow, I just watched the replay of Broncos @ Cowboys... It was the game of the season imo. Both teams were drenched in sweat as they played themselves to exhaustion.

Hate to say it, but I doubt the GF or any of the other finals will be as good.

As a result of the "kick" could the suspension and consequential absence of Roberts been the difference since it was V close?

Yeah. Replaced by a rookie. Roberts is deceptively fast and has game winning ability. But the real problem was the halves combo and the forwards doing dumb things.

No doubt about it Jo. Roberts suspension forced the broncs to play an injured Opacic who missed a tackle (with Oates) on i think it was Cooper in the first half and then got torched by O'Neil for a try in the second.

He would have also been the difference in attack IMO. They missed his speed, especially in the second half against a tiring defense.

His kick the week prior and Gillett's trip on JT cost the broncos a win against the cowboys and quite possibly a GF spot.

From memory there was a few occasions where Broncos knocked on early in the count trying to force the play when being patient and taking the tackle would've been better. The Milford one about 5 out at a time when a score would've extended the lead comes to mind. In most cases, there were tackles and time left to work with. Cooler heads and better decisions were needed.

Also, 54 missed tackles. It's amazing we only went down by 6 having missed that many.

Poor old Milf had a shocker, though re-watching the game i noticed that the Cowboys ran that young monster Hess at him all night which probably took a bit out of him.

You are right though Zeal, the missed tackles, the impatience and ill discipline all cost them. Very strange for a Wayne Bennett coached team to perform like that.

That said, credit has to go to the Cowboys. They were just too good in the end.

Yeah, I don't mean to zero in on Milf, it's just that particular mistake stuck in my mind because of the scenario. It was first tackle when we coughed it up on their line, at 14-6 Broncos, so if we had have scored there to take it to a 14 point lead roughly midway through that second half, it might've been a different ballgame with Cows having to play big time catch-up. Instead, they then marched it down our end, we knocked on a bomb and then O'Niell went over for his first to make it a 2 point game. That little period was huge in context of the game for mine.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not taking anything away from the Cowboys effort or the spectacle, as both teams were amazing in many ways but as a Broncos fan the loss hurt when it was there for the winning imo. I guess there's some solace in the fact that Cowboys are still in it from a QLD perspective, but I'd had enough of them pulling our pants down after last year's GF!
