Argentina gifted it to them. They came out for the second half and just panicked from the kick.

Not surprising though NZ is the best side in the world... If you haven't had a lot of success against a certain team nerves will almost certainly come into play... They needed to do more with the numerical advantage they had, when the All Blacks had players in the bin... In the second half they spent too much time defending & wore themselves out, before eventually fading & relinquishing the lead/victory...
Makes the Japanese victory even more impressive as they took it to the Boks for 80 mins; fearless stuff.

The good thing about the poor performances from the all blacks and the boks makes it seem more possible the wallabies can win. But then the wallabies could well suck too so we'll see.

Looking forward to seeing how they go Thursday morning against a desperate Fiji, should be a good contest...
Saw this happen live... Feel for the guy, but that's sport...

Argentina certainly had it within them and have more than enough experience against the ABs to have pulled it off. They are really kicking themselves no doubt.

When I first heard that Japan beat sa, I thought "s**t, Craig wing must have had a blinder", then when I watched I realised he didn't play, was suited up on the sideline. Are they that good that wingy can't get a start? Would have expected him to be flyhalf and captain.

He was named at 12 (Second five-eighth/Inside Centre*) in the pregame team naming, but wasn't in the run on side... I noticed he was suited up as well, I wondered at the time if it was a late injury withdrawal.
Found this...
"Former NRL star Craig Wing has been ruled out of the clash with a calf injury, however Jones said he is still confident Japan can win just their first World Cup match since their solo victory in 1991."

That unit on the wing for Fiji is something. Better than the wallaby wingers. Ashley Cooper was turrible. And who the hell is Horne?
The scrums in that game were like nothing I've ever seen, just perfectly matched to the point they were totally still.

Lol…If you're talking about Nemani Nadolo... He could have been playing for the Wallabies; he represented Australia in the 08 Junior World Championship & was with the Waratahs for some time... He is somewhat of a late bloomer & didn't really announce himself to the world till later in his career with Canterbury (NZ) & the Crusaders… The one that got away perhaps!
The overnight RWC results were a bit more predictable this time...
{SCO 45 - JPN 10} I had a feeling this would happen, I actually wouldn't be surprised if Japan don't win another game [Hope not*] because the teams in their pool are absolutely huge in terms of physical size, they gave everything against the Boks it was always going to be a tough ask for them to back it up against a physical Scottish side... Now they still have to face two monstrous sides in Samoa & the US, which boasts a 112-116 KG, centre...
{AUS 28 - FJI 13} The Wallabies probably have effectively ended Fiji's 2015 RWC title campaign... Fiji couldn't handle the short turnaround, but did manage to keep Australia from securing a bonus point, so that could come into play further down the track... [Will it prove costly for AUS?]
{FRA 38 - ROM 11} France had no such trouble overcoming the short week fatigue, they easily accounted for Romania who played their first game of the RWC tournament... France also picked up their first bonus point victory of the Pool stages.
I personally really enjoy the introduction of the bonus point system to the RWC… It not only encourages more attack minded play, it also adds an exciting dynamic that may cause some Controversy/Broken hearts this RWC…
