Insane to have a +8 run differential, tied for 10th in all of MLB, and yet be 11 games below .500, with the season feeling on the verge of being over.

Haha, leave it to the 2015 A's...actually playing some decent ball lately, heading into bottom 9th with 7-1 lead and chance to sweep the Tigers on the road, and gas can bullpen once again in full effect...now 7-5, still just 1 out, and mop-up duty now turns into "closer" having to come in.
Credit where it's due, A's did hold on and finished off the sweep...but Dan Otero is perfect example of the bullpen woes, dude was great past 2 seasons but has been terrible this year.

Those errors really bit them bad.
For me, it's like the Warriors and turnovers; when they aren't turning the ball over, you know they've got a chance to blow it out.
The A's don't have that blow-out potential, but whenever they are (relatively) mistake-free and steady, they've got a chance to manufacture a win.

Doolittle's hurt, O'Flaherty was hurt and just got back, Otero and Cook were very solid last two years now suck, Abad was lights out last year now he sucks too. Only guy pulling his weight is freaking Scribner. Just goes to show how volatile bullpen arms are from year to year and why it doesn't make sense to invest lots of money into the bullpen. Just bring in a bunch of arms and hope 7 of them can be good any given year.

...and speak of the devil, Otero sent down and they called up the switch-pithcher. And no one should bank on Doolittle being some savior for the b/p...he's good but some hitters have started to figure out how Doolittle just likes to climb the ladder with his fastball, and if they lay off then he has to give in or walk them. And without a dominant fastball and no real effective secondary pitch, he can get into trouble. But could be a moot point because he might not even pitch this year.

That said, b/p has been somewhat better during this hot stretch, and good chance to take a series this weekend vs a struggling BoSox team.
This article was really hard to read especially with a young child involved

Lol gas can bullpen's about to blow it again.

Worst A's bullpen of the Billy Beane era?

Haha, here I thought since the A's had been playing well they had a chance to win the series...how fitting that just as they're going to at least salvage one game, the b/p implodes again in the bottom of the 8th.
The draft will be a welcome distraction for everyone . . . that doesn't complain about Billy's drafting strategies.

I believe in billy boy!
Nice. First walk off of the year.

They also wrapped up an interesting enough of a draft. Most of these guys won't see the majors, but a it's a fun little mix of tools, makeup, and neat-sounding names.

The statistics continue to show that this is a decent team. 8th in runs allowed per game, 12th in runs scored per game, yet the worst record in the AL. As horrific as last season ended, at least we were competitive. This season has felt doomed from early on due mainly to bad luck.
