So if you take Mayweather's shoes off he will forget all his defensive skills?

Nah not so much but it does make difference. It's the ring vs octagon and the gloves that make all the difference
Explain how that would help McGregor? Had to look it up but an octagon is 750 square feet, I know in boxing fighters can agree on different ring sizes but the largest are typically 24 x 24 which is 576 square feet some championship fights have been held in as small as 18 foot rings. Also an octagon has no square corners to try to trap someone in. The larger space and the fact he could not get trapped in a corner favors Mayweather.

It's not so much about the size but it's the shape and the boxing ropes. Mayweather has mastered using the corners and ropes of a boxing ring as a defensive tool. Not to also mention he uses boxing gloves to defend masterfully. In an octagon I believe the cage would limit his range of motion and his movement defensively compared to the boxing ropes. They aren't as flexible. You can't sway backwards against a cage only side to side.

Andre ward, arguably #1 p4p fighter in boxing, speaks highly on the Diaz brothers boxing skills who have been his sparring partners on numerous occasions.

Mayweather would not be able to rope a dope, but I think at worst the octagon compared to a ring would be an even trade off. The more space you give a guy like Mayweather to move the better for him. Dundee wanted large rings for Ali's fights, guess what sized rings Ali's opponents trainers wanted? Since Ali was usually the main draw he usually got his way.

Give Mayweather boxing gloves in an octagon he probably beats Conor. But with MMA gloves idk
Bob rope a dope is 90% of Mayweathers game

Eff Malignaggi. I would like to see the real video though. I would believe him in this case if he thinks what was released to the public isn't the right picture.

One thing I noticed about MMA "boxing" is the incredibly poor defense and general boxing techniques. I see a lot of guys throw punches while off balance, windmill punches, lunging, and then there is the almost non existent defense. Anybody ranked top 20 would make these guys look foolish in a boxing match.

Um, there's a reason for that, if you knew mma we wouldnt have to explain. With that said yah a typical mma fighter obviously would get pwned in a boxing match but in a strictly boxing match the mma fighter would shore up his/her boxing technique because the threat of an assortment of kicks, knees, and elbows and the TAKEDOWN is non-existent in a boxing match.
That can't explain away the poor technique when throwing punches.
If you're referring to Ronda Rousey then I totally agree:

God she looked so f**king stupid. So glad that era is over
Conor has a .0000001 % chance of winning this fight. The only way he does is if he KO's Mayweather. Conor is not a Boxer lol

Anyone that thinks otherwise is very un-knowledgeable about the sport and just a fanboy. This is a scam fight through and through
