One thing I noticed about MMA "boxing" is the incredibly poor defense and general boxing techniques. I see a lot of guys throw punches while off balance, windmill punches, lunging, and then there is the almost non existent defense. Um, there's a reason for that, if you knew mma we wouldnt have to explain. With that said yah a typical mma fighter obviously would get pwned in a boxing match but in a strictly boxing match the mma fighter would shore up his/her boxing technique because the threat of an assortment of kicks, knees, and elbows and the TAKEDOWN is non-existent in a boxing match.

That can't explain away the poor technique when throwing punches.
