that's a lot of action packed fighters right there. people think the sport needs ONE polarizing HW ko artist to keep boxing relevant and thats just not true

the average joe needs a polarizing figure who they want to see lose or the hw ko artist. no one's gonna sit around and fork over 50 bucks to see technique in the midst of a 12 pack lol. that's the way the market wants it.

but people do fork over 50 to see lara and rigo. i'm of the opinion that doesn't want boxing mainstreamed then people like lara and rigondeux get booed by people that don't follow/appreciate boxing.

Theres no reason for mayweather to stand toe to toe with someone when he knows nobody can hit him. Hes been fighting this way his entire career. The whole point of boxing is to not get punched. He's an expert at that

No doubt but he is boring to watch because of his style. When you combine that along with the fact that both fighters are well past their primes it was not a shock at all that this was a snooze of a fight.

When both guys get 100+ mil for 36 mins worth of work then theres no real reason to make a good fight. Pac was friggin smiling between rounds prob calculating how much he made during the previous 3 mins.

Overall Floyd's a smart guy for stringing us along, avoiding Manny while Manny couldve actually beaten him, and getting paid millions and millions for a stale ass fight. Everybody knew what would happen but we paid for it anyway. Ill actually be happy once Mayweather is done so the sport can move on. I feel that Mayweathers somewhat monopoly over the sport has stagnated the sport, at least for the casual fan.

have you not seen a Mayweather fight? this was classic Mayweather

And there were plenty of times Mayweather stayed in the corner and let Pac unleash and Pac couldnt hit anything but gloves elbows and shoulders.

Yeah Ive seen Mayweather fights. If Mayweather woulda let Pac unleash those flurries five years ago when Manny actually cared about boxing then the outcome may have been different. Manny was hitting elbows and shoulders because all he could see was Jacksons and Franklins

I believe they put up a stat last night that said they made $113,000 a second for the fight. lol

May wanted 60;40 from the jump and he ended up with that cut. this would have been a mega fight today or 5 years ago and Manny could have made the same amount amount but he didnt fight May bc he wanted 50:50.

Pac would have struggled to hit May yesterday or 2007. Mayweahters tactical control of range and distance has had him on top of boxing for over a decade

Im not saying Pac woulda won 5 years ago, ( id bet on May 10/10 times in this matchup) but I think Mayweather wouldve had to work harder than he did last night to win and maybe the result woulda been different. Pac (imo) just wasnt very motivated to fight well. As far as the split and everything i personally feel its May's fault this fight didnt happen. He pretty much ran boxing so if he cared about anything other than money it woulda happened. 50:50 seems fair to me when youre gonna be walking out with hundreds of millions, but thats just me.

thats exactly mayweathers style. he fights to NOT LOSE, instead of fighting TO WIN. i'm always baffled how the idea that he is the best ever is taken seriously
