I don't know man, the only guys to hate playing with Kobe and vocal about it are Ramon Sessions and Smush Parker, and they're both losers in my book. What do you think?
She's not referring to Sessions or Parker, she's referring to FA's that supposedly wouldn't sign with the Lakers because of Kobe: Howard, Bosh, George, Anthony, etc. It's a dumb thing to say, especially when your team can't attract any of the top FA's because you're paying a 36 year old Kobe Bryant max money.

It's pretty clear who she's talking about when she mentions players that are afraid to play with the Lakers because of Kobe. There's really only one.

Sessions has never said anything negative about playing with Kobe. He opted out and was suprised he didn't get a call from the Lakers. Abbott is full of it. Smush lasted about 1 month with the Heat after leaving the Lakers.

The Harbaugh stuff brought down the Niners? Please. The only thing hurting the Niners right now are major injuries and suspensions to their best defensive players. The only thing bringing down the Lakers right now is paying Kobe a stupid contact and bad front office decisions.

You guys are missing the point. It doesn't matter if she's "right" in her perspective. If nothing else, the Lakers are sending a clear signal to future Free Agents that they are going to go to bat for players that produce for the Lakers. They gave Kobe an extension that kept him as the highest player in the league, paying him way more than anyone else could have paid him, while he was in the midst of recovering from a catastrophic injury. They didn't have to...they wanted to. Then, when that guy gets blasted, and she goes on the offensive in the media.
The Lakers are sending a clear message to future FAs that they're loyal to their guys. No one alive understands the Laker brand better than Jeanie does, and I'm thrilled that she's going out there and defending Kobe. I don't care if she's right or not.

I think they would've had a better shot, since it would've been THEIR team and they wouldn't need to worry about their egos getting bruised, especially Melo. I don't think Lebron would've came here because he still wants to win championships. But look at Melo, if he was really that worried about winning a ring, he wouldn't have resigned back with the Knicks. Didn't he have offers from Rockets and Bulls? On top of that, I think if we really don't have a solid roster in place by the time Kobe retires, it will still be hard to get a top FA that year. Why would a Durant, Griffin, Anthony Davis want to leave their team / city where they are the face, to come to place where you will be compared to Kobe and criticized when they miss a game winner, or do poor in the 4th, or don't win a ship, especially if there isn't a good roster set in place. We will romanticize about Kobe when he's gone, like we do about Jordan. We're gonna pretend like Kobe made every game winning shot and was always clutch and won every playoff game, you know the media will...it's gonna be a tough sell.
Like Ninerjohn said, it's gonna be tough until the Kobe era is over, and our best bet is probably to build through the draft and produce the next great Laker instead of trying to buy one.

I'm totally fine with it. And I certainly would question the stones of anyone who didn't want to come to LA because of Kobe. Because their current situation is better? Because they could make more money? I have no problem with that. But because they don't want to deal with that big meanie Kobe Bryant, who along with Duncan is the winningest star player of his generation? I'm fine with that dude not coming.
The Lakers biggest problem is that players CAN make more money elsewhere, and they ARE in a better position to win elsewhere.
