And no, I dont want to see my middle of the order power hitters bunting.
What people never seem to understand is that when you shift on a hitter, the pitcher is pounding the inside part of the plate. They're trying to jam them or get them to hit it into the shift. You aren't seeing pitches that are something you can take the other way or push down the opposite field line. Its not as easy as "learning how to hit to all fields." As if players don't know that already.

Besides, baseball has banned fielders being able to be in the infield between the pitcher and catcher for forever, so it's not like defensive restrictions are a new concept for MLB.

Haha no bleep. I mean being between the catcher and pitcher would A) jack up the sightline of the hitter and B) be a safety concern. I mean you probably don't need a rule to limit fielders standing in front of home plate when a ball is getting barreled at 104 mph. That is to say if the pitch doesn't strike him on the fanny.

There isnt even a pretend salary cap. And frankly, baseball has demonstrated that it doesnt need one.

Oh it definitely needs one. Was really hoping we would get one during these negotiations, even if it's a soft cap like NBA, or bigger luxury tax hit at least.

Adding one more team to the playoffs I liked. Maybe Angels can finally make the playoffs now
