Maybe if the heads of the Big 12 got on their big boy pants and made a championship game they wouldn't have two teams out right now. If they did have a championship the winner would have been in I'm sure. They can't blame the committee for their own conference f**king up.

Plus, Baylor's non-conference games: SMU, Buffalo and Northwestern St. I have no sympathy for Baylor, nor TCU, even though I think they'd both beat Florida St. They should've scheduled tougher opponents.

TCU is three points away from being undefeated on the road against a very good good Baylor team. They got royally f**ked by this committee because they don't have the money behind them like a Texas or Oklahoma. This 4 team playoff is no better than a two team national championship game. It's all about money and preseason bias.

I think TCU should have been in over Ohio State; however, Baylor has NOTHING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT. They need to start scheduling legitimate teams beyond the one's they play in conference. Although I believe the BIG-12 is more competitive than the BIG-10 and ACC. They're not as daunting as the SEC and PAC-12...soooo, they need to man up a little to complain.

In a universe without Ohio State, how in the blue hell can anybody say TCU should be in over Baylor. They have the same record, played the same teams (except TCU played Minnesota) and Baylor beat TCU. Ignoring head to head because TCU beat the team ranked #25 is insane.

The "eye test" argument can only be used when comparing teams with non-similar resumes.

Baylor lost to an unranked 7-5 team by 14. TCU lost by 3 to a 12-1 team. Seems obvious to me. The one that gets me is the "better" OSU team got beat by a terrible 6-6 team.

That "terrible" team has basically the same record as WVU despite tons of key injuries and is going to a bowl game... also, the loss was in Week 2 with a team of mostly freshman and sophomores and a freshman QB in his first home game. Baylor and TCU lost in October. Always better to lose early than late. Also, let's remember TCU beat WVU on a last second field goal, and almost lost.

I really wonder if some of these Big XII conspiracy theorists actually watched Ohio State dismantle Michigan State or Wisconsin in road/neutral site games. The victory over Wisconsin might be the best single game performance I have ever seen by a CFB team. completely shut down the best rushing attack in the nation... drop 59 points on the #2 defense in the nation with a 3rd string QB.

Look, TCU and Baylor are damn good teams. Teams like them are what will lead to an 8 team playoff in a few years. But saying Ohio State didn't deserve to get in is absurd. They are the hottest team going into the playoffs.

THIS JUST IN: Wisconsin head coach Gary Andersen is leaving the school for the same position at Oregon State.
I think the committee got it right. Although TCU really does deserve a spot, there's simply no room for them. I think they're better than FSU, but I don't think you can justify them over the undefeated reigning national champions in this case

Yup. I'm more confident there will be 8 teams soon though than I was about going from BCS to a playoff, so in the future teams like TCU and Baylor with one loss should get in.

I wouldn't expect it to change for about 8-10 years (hope I'm wrong). If there's one thing CFB loves it's controversy and this might be more controversial than the BCS. They shoulda just went 8 to begin. Everybody knew no. 5 would be pissed and I think that's the way NCAA likes it. Get people talking and arguing etc.

"Of course, the eight-team argument might be moot. The College Football Playoff is working under a 12-year agreement with ESPN for a four-team playoff, and CFP chairman Bill Hancock said the group has had no discussions about expanding the field. But some coaches, athletic directors and conference commissioners are already stumping for expansion."

Well yeah, they aren't going to announce plans to expand before the first playoff happens. But with the money these Playoffs are going to make, plus the viewership ratings, eventually the field will expand bc money talk. Plus, many of the schools that originally wanted only bowls with no playoff will change their tunes due to the reality of their school getting excluded like TCU and Baylor this year. My prediction is in 5 years we have the first 8 team playoff. Contracts can easy be redone, and ESPN will gladly support a bigger playoff.
