lol, it was pinned because it is one of the Bay Areas teams. Just like the Sharks thread was pinned.

So we should expect the Raiders to be pinned too using that logic? Well.. at least stupid wrestling isnt pinned.
Honestly, if you have enough traffic, a thread being pinned is moot, since it will always be bumped to the top.
Coco Pagan already getting cortisone shots...can't believe Beane still relying on this guy to be an everyday (or near to it) player.

What other options do they have?

Now, not too many...Burns is an unproven commodity and Gentry is okay but don't see him as your everyday leadoff hitter, he seems to do better farther down in the lineup like 7-8. With as in-love as Beane is with making moves, it's puzzling and I think stupid that--after Crisp playing a near career-high games in 2013 and having a great season--Beane didn't trade him while he had some value...you just knew this guy was on borrowed time, and it played out that way in 2014, now it's 2015, Crisp is still here and he's already breaking down again.

And just to rehash old business, maybe not trade Cespedes during the stretch run of a pennant race but wait until the offseason and use him to get your new leadoff hitter instead of 2-month rental of a pitcher you didn't need.

I heard Billy burns is pretty decent, burner for lack of a better term. How is he with the bat?

Yes, very fast and a good base-stealer...switch-hitting slappy with no power to speak of but in minors multiple times has hit .300+ with very good OBP. But I think he's around 25-26 so probably time to see what he can do. I'd much rather give him an extended look than keep pinning hopes on rice paper Crisp.

1) The Wrestling Thread was pinned before it was moved to the Parking Lot.
2) There is no way you are actually dumb enough to think that being an A's/49ers fan is the same as being a Raiders/49ers fan. Completely different sport.
Ladendorf or Sogard??

It wasn't too dead in this forum last season, there were a small handful of us...but if you compare it to the Giants then yeah, not much hapnin. Every once in a while I go to Athletics Nation, but I don't post b/c I don't like the layout and too many snarky Beane bootlickers, most of whom probably couldn't throw a baseball if their life depended on it.
Reddick to start the season on the DL...I am utterly SHOCKED by this news.

The "Beanius" trades away half the team yet china dolls like Reddick and Crisp are still here. And oh yeah, Sogard still hanging around. But hey, no more Barton, only held onto him about 5 yrs past his expiration date so guess that's progress.

Likely the last year for both players in Oakland. I have a feeling that the Nerd will be around for a while til Barreto is ready. LOL Another 2-3 years maybe.
I'm really excited about the young arms on this staff though.

The starting rotation (and their expectations)

Sonny - All-Star and Cy Young candidate
Kaz - Vet presence and hopefully a consistent arm into the late summer; don't be surprised if he's dangled out there in the market come June/July
Hahn - all kinds of potential; good enough to become the #2 arm by midseason
Graveman - he's been a beast so far; hopefully not just a ST sensation
Pomerantz - has finally arrived; expected to stay in the rotation all season. Wait and see...

And with the potential of Parker and/or Griffin coming back sometime mid-season, the A's *should* have good starting pitching along with what I think will still be a strong bullpen.

So even though I see them really struggling to score runs, their pitching should keep them respectable...but my way-too-early prediction is it will be M's and Halos battling for 1st-2nd in the division...Astros a dark horse but think more likely they break through and make noise in 2016.
