according to an article, Joe Lacob was a big Harrison Barnes supporter headed into last year's draft. Jerry West wasn't a fan and wanted to trade up for Kidd-Gilchrist.

I wanted to trade up for MKG too lol
I thought he'd be a perfect fit, mostly because he has the potential to be an elite defender.
It turned out good for us though
