Why?...
Sharks have now lost 5 in a row, and 7 out of their last 8.

And scored a total of 14 goals in their last 9 games. This downward spiral is a team effort.

You still think McLellan should stay? He's losing this team.

I don't know. You could blame him or DW for trading our farm away and having nothing to show for it (could blame coaches for new guys sucking though).

This is what we have gained and lost this year in our dealings...

GAINED:
Brent Burns
Dominic Moore
Daniel Winnick
T.J. Galiardi
Martin Havlat (injured)
James Sheppard (injured - just now on conditioning in AHL)
2nd rounder (2012)
7th rounder (2012)

LOST:
Charlie Coyle, top prospect
Michael Sgarbossa, top prospect
Mike Connolly, top prospect
Jamie McGinn, 3rd liner having breakout year
Devin Setoguchi, Top 6 forward, 20-30 goal scorer, clutch player (especially in playoffs last year), outstanding skater
Dany Heatley, sniper and power forward who can get the dirty goals
1st round pick (2011) - For Burns
2nd round pick (2012) - For Moore
3rd round pick (2012) - Draft day trade
3rd round pick (2013) - For Sheppard

So far, what we have gained has come nowhere near even matching the collective production & potential of what we've lost. For this I am extremely displeased. As much as we've dealed, thankfully we still have early picks for this year, and we BETTER DANG WELL DRAFT AMAZINGLY. At least this much, DW has proven to be very good at. We have no middle picks though. 3rd rounders lost, and 4th rounder lost due to something with the Moen-Huskins trade a while back.

Our picks for 2012:
1st
2nd (compensation for not signing Patrick White)
5th
6th
7th
7th

That's not much.

Besides acquiring Burns I'll admit Wilsons additions over the past year have been duds so far. Giving up a second round pick for Moore was ridiculous. The guy is likely just a rental that had only 4 goals before he joined us and he'll probably finish the season with only 4 goals.

McGinn's put 4 pucks in net in 6 games since he's left. That feels like a total punch to the gut.

I remember when Ron Wilson was fired, Doug wilson said something like "there comes a time when the class needs a new professor"

I think the sharks need a new class at this point

UGH. STUPID MOVE.
Sharks now 11th in the west. We're done.

My confidence is so low right now that I think we lose the next 2.

If we can't beat 2nd to last Edmonton, we don't deserve to be in the playoffs. I still am FURIOUS that we got rid of McGinn. McGinn cut down on penalties a lot from last year, and he was breaking out. Instead, we acquire a bunch of underachievers.. AND THEN WE SIT HERE WONDERING WHY THIS TEAM IS UNDERACHIEVING? WHAT THE F.

It is MIND-NUMBING.

10 minutes until more embarrassment as we watch the Sharks get gang-raped by 2nd to last place Edmonton.
