Michael Sgarbossa is gone. We badly need a great draft in June.

Nooooooooooo!!! CONNOLLY TOO? They were both DOMINATING at their levels. We basically just traded our two current best-performing prospects away and a guy who just broke out this year.

I just don't know how to feel. This doesn't cripple us.. but what the EFF are we going to do in the draft now? I pray that our other forward prospects Hamilton and Viedensky can step up and dominate the same way, but I'm skeptical, especially on Sgarbossa who had a tremendous pre-season with NHLers a year ago.

We look desperate.

This deal is pretty much nothing more than a desperate attempt to fix the PK. What kills me is these guys both are free agents after the season.

Quote:
The 6-foot-2, 210-pound Winnik has five goals and 13 assists in 63 games, playing mostly as a checking-line forward. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound Galiardi is more of a speedster but has just eight goals and six assists in 55 games.

Winnik will be a UFA after the season; Galiardi will be an RFA.

McGinn, 23, has 12 goals and 12 assists in his first full NHL season. He's set to be an RFA after the season.

Connolly, 22, has 10 goals and 20 assists in his first AHL season with the Worcester Sharks. The forward spent three years at the University of Minnesota-Duluth.

Sgarbossa, 19, is a center with the OHL's Sudbury Wolves. In 57 games, he has 41 goals and 43 assists.

can we trade tiny torrey turnover too?

Too late, lol
sgarbossa is in the OHL

So did this trade make this team better?

yes it did, fixes our PK a bit and gives us much needed depth to bench retarded players

it remains to be seen what the prospects will do. They are doing well in the Minors, but that doesnt mean anythin. Ty Wishart and Matt Carle didnt turn out to be superstars

I just really liked our prospects.

Maybe they won't do anything, but I liked having good players in the farm, you know? ... We've now traded three of our top "future" guys - Coyle, Connolly, Sgarbossa.

I pray that Jamie Sheppard does something when healthy to make me feel better about the other trades...

I would've rather traded Mitchell than McGinn, but.. whatever. This team is desperately trying to "win now" and we are mortgaging our future by doing this. Time will tell if it bites us..

Yep. Our developmental system is pretty damn depleted
Wow at this team..
wow, I just looked at your guys PK. Holy s**t that thing was broken

On the plus side, your PP is doing awesome. Funny stat is PHX's PP, lol. They are so getting bounced in the first round if they make it in, that team is garbage. Radim Vrbata and Mike Smith are both having the years of their lives.
