Mayweather is very close to retiring. He's going to want to retire undefeated. So wouldn't be surprised if this was his last or next to last fight. Just hope the last one is against Pacman.

I honestly believe that if he doesn't fight Manny next, his next PPV will not put up great numbers. People are fed up with him and this last fight didn't help any. People wanna see him lose but know that if he isn't fighting Manny, he won't lose.
Although, the only good thing from the fight is that EVERYBODY and their mama are talkin about boxing right now, good or bad.

Unfortunately, I still don't see the Pacman/Mayweather fight happening. Floyd is gonna want to retire undefeated and he can give a rat's ass what fans and analysts say about him ducking Pac. I can see another close negotiation happening only to have Floyd sign a rematch with Ortiz.

He was looking at the ref like "wtf, did you see what Floyd just did" kinda thing.
Sure, it was legal, but as far as boxing etiquette goes...made Mayweather look like a punk.
Ortiz made the first move in throwing boxing etiquette out the window in this fight. That headbutt was so obviously deliberate, that it pissed Floyd off. He was still mad after they touched gloves and even pushed him away as he went in for a kiss. It's Ortiz' bad for not protecting himself. You don't walk up and kiss a rattlesnake when his rattler is rattlin'.
then for ortiz to say the headbutt was an "accident" that he "didn't mean to" in the post fight interview is just pathetic. Man up, say you got a little too excited and launched your head into his face. Then, accept the fact that you didn't protect yourself as you should have and got caught. No harm, no foul.
This
Ortiz got the adrenaline level too high and headbutted, then realized he was biting the hand that feeds him, and actually could've really damaged Floyd with a bigtime scar, and apologize, somewhat a little too much, but he paid for it.

Yea they're talking about boxing, but in a very bad way.
Controversy in the Floyd/Ortiz fight and controversy in the Canelo/Gomez fight. Not what boxing needs now.

I still like Ortiz. I think he needs to drop the "I'm a good guy" act and adopt an "I'm a badass" attitude. Had he done that, he probably wouldn't have been ktfo.

The Canelo fight was stopped a bit too soon but he was in control the whole fight and would've lost anyways.
Same for the floyd/victor fight.

I'm a big Canelo fan and I do think he would have won it, but Gomez was moving forward and fighting back. The rounds were close and Gomez deserved the standing 8 count, not a quick TKO call.

Being a Pac fan has nothing to do with it. It's the fact that this fight was his much anticipated return and it ended the way it did. Everyone was pissed, not just Pac fans or any other fans. You heard it from the crowd in Vegas, from analysts on ESPN, etc. Are you honestly saying that as a boxing fan, you're giving Floyd props for that performance?! If that's the case, then boxing has gone downhill...
As far as beating the "hottest welter" around, this wasn't the fight the world wanted first. Yes, he's up and coming and a champ, but he's only 24 and has a lot of room to grow. I was rooting for him, definitely, but I didn't see him winning the fight unless he KO'd Floyd.

Mayweather is a b***h....what a s**tty sports weekend. First he takes the easy way out of this fight and then the Niners blow the win. f**k.

easy way out would've been to say he couldn't continue from that dirty headbutt. Ortiz got caught slippin. You don't slip in a championship fight, ever. ESPECIALLY after you just pissed your opponent off by throwing such a blatant illegal shot.
