I can never root for the lakers...even if play a team of my most hated players. Can never ever root for the Lakers.

Dan Gilbert is a scumbag.

You spout all that bulls**t and yet were trying to pay him 120 million? He is saying what he has to say to try and keep fans on the bandwagon, paint Lebron as the villian who turned his back on his home. Reality is he had 7 years to surround Lebron with a championship-caliber supporting cast and couldn't do it.

You think Lebron didn't want to be the guy to deliver a parade to Cleveland? He looked at that roster and decided he couldn't do it, for all the egomaniac talk going round that must of been a bitter pill to swallow. Gilbert is making a shameless attempt to prevent his ticket sells from going in the toilet and trying to portray Lebron as some kind of despicable human being.

I get disappointment, but get me a f**king break he decided to play basketball in a different city he didn't murder anyone. Though if he did it wouldn't be as big a news story if today as taught me anything.

Not when Im at talented as LeBron and have the opportunity to call myself the GOAT when my career is all said and done assuming I play it all right...he HAD a lot to win and a lot to lose pending how he played his future...I dont even think leaving Cleveland would have obliterated his legacy the way going to Miami has, it obviously would have been GREAT for his legacy to stay in Cleveland, but even a move to the Nets, Bulls, or Knicks would have been okh for his legacy...

But nope...now his legacy is beyond tarnished...its simply dead...

But please, Im a Laker fan first, Shaq fan second, Hibachi fan 3rd, Kobe fan 4th, so if you're gonna call me by a name, please say the first 3 seeing how they are more appropriate or else you are just picking the title you want to hear and disrespecting my fanhood for the sake of your argument

I didn't mean to single you out, but it does seem to be the general consensus of many a laker fan which in turn is usually a kobe fan

I understand your logic, no harm meant, no harm done...but wouldnt my opinion also be the same for a Jordan fan? For a Magic fan? For any fan of a player who did the same as those guys did? And is it so wrong to have wanted that from a player as talented as Bron was? For him to achieve greatness, to win rings, and to do it all where he started?

Mind you, for those who might have missed the memo (lol if you have), I probably am the biggest LeBron hater in this world (well, after today, maybe not as much as some guys in Ohio lol), used to call him LeBot for quite some years, so yeah, just so that we get all the titles out of the way, Laker fan, Shaq fan, Hibachi fan, Kobe fan, LeBron HATER, well, honestly, I guess just GLOBAL HATER in general would be a more fitting title for myself since I hate all types of people, organizations, entities, all over the world, and with a passion

The thing is, compared to those other guys you just mentioned, LeBron is at a huge disadvantage based on location alone. Say what you want but Cleveland is a s**t-hole, nobody wants to play there, the market is too small for the owner to really turn a profit and be able to go out and be able to assemble a quality team around him like Buss and Reinsdorf were able to do for Magic/Kobe/MJ. Let's get real, it's a nice story and all, oh future superstar gets drafted by hometown team, championships, fairytale ending, blah blah blah. It just doesn't work that way. People actually want to live where Magic, Kobe and MJ played. Joakim Noah is right in everything he says about Cleveland. Maybe LeBron enjoys the beach life. I know I do. If I had the means, i would be living somewhere along the coast down in SoCal. but I got a beach where I live right now, so it's not all too bad, even though I'm only able to enjoy it during the summer months.

My point is, I just don't see what the big deal is. Why so much hate just because 3 very talented guys decided to go to the same team to play a game in a location that they'll enjoy being in?

I'm pretty sure these guys had their heart set on playing together, the opportunity was there for them, they hit free agency at the same time, a handful of teams set aside enough money to make it possible, it was just a matter of where they all wanted to go.

Had they all gone to the Knicks/Nets/Clips, would you still feel the same about lebron as you do now? Or is it just because he made a 1-hour ESPN special? If so, I think it's a pretty petty reason to hate on the guy in all honesty.

I don't understand everyone hating on him (them) though. How many times we ask ourselves - why don't these athletes take a little less and go to a better team. Why don't NBA superstars take less money to help out the owner to bring in better players. These guys are doing just that...that too in the PRIME of their careers and ppl are blasting them.

Fine, Lebron made it a circus for a week...but it's a week, in the month of July where there is nothin' on tv except 7584th game of the baseball season. All this legacy stuff - c'mon let's be serious. If he wins several titles - his legacy will be one of the greatest players who put team before himself by taking less money. People will soon forget this 1 week if he wins multiple championships. Trust me.

Oh I already knew that even before this thread, I'm not directing all of this only at GameOver.. my perception from what I've read and seen is that a lot of people are having similar feelings to GameOver's after today's events, so i just decided to quote him and go from there.

And I pretty much have a similar opinion to yourself about all this.

Oh, okh, lol, well, good, Im glad we know where I stand on all of this, but let me try to take a stab at this BronBron thing from everyone elses perspective...

Bron could have gone to the Knicks, to the Nets, to the Bulls, silky recognizes that and asks would it be different if he went there, the answer is yes. If he went to any of those teams he becomes the face of that franchise, its his team, hes the leader no questions asked, however in Miami, its not so set out in stone, its moreso seen as Wades team and I have a feeling Wade will end up being seen as the leader & "the man"...

Lets say these guys end up winning 7 rings, take the Celtics from back in the 60s, besides Bill Russel, the average NBA fan couldnt name you a single other player from that team, and thats because they only remember the leader, the face of that team...even though that team was filled with VERY talented players all around (and current Hall of Famers)...

I understand Im reaching here for this example (only because of the amount of time that has lapsed, that period/age of basketball that was back then, etc) but this is the closest thing I can find to it...but that was a DYNASTY, the first of its kind but again, down the road, somehow all those names were lost except for Russel...

I feel like Bosh's name will be lost for sure and I dont think both BronBron & Wade's name will live on, or at least not in the same light that it should, they are both AMAZING top tier players, unique to this generation and to the history of the game, unfortunately one will probably be seen as the Scottie Pippen to the other's MJ which will RADICALLY change history seeing how I think both player's potential is better than the worst case scenario (a Scottie Pippen, which isnt a bad thing to be a top 50 player and all)

As far as why people hate Bron (other than myself of course, I hate him for more illogical reasons that just go with being a highly acclaimed hater)...the guy has a public image of being a douche sometimes, a egotistic, narcissistic douche that puts himself above the average person...he was seen as the "hometown hero" & as a great talent to watch and has fun doing what he does and thats why his s**tty personality and persona was tolerated by most fans (again, I am speaking on my opinion and observations), but when you basically stab your people, and destroy that "hometown hero" story that well, thats kind of who you are (besides the amazingly gifted and talented player that he is) and you do it in the manner that he did it, then it only destroys everything he created and flip it 180 from love to hate and puts on blast all of his negative characteristics and traits that for the most part was hidden behind that "hometown hero/great fun loving guy" persona that the fans and media had created for him...

Again, just my 2 cents on the whole situation
