The 2010 South Africa World Cup thread

What is unbelievable is how Kaka gets a red card for standing in the way of a IC player, while the two guys who intentionally tried (and partially succeeded) to hurt brasilian players did get one combined yellow card. I don't know if a ref or linesman couldn't see those fouls. (And no, i won't talk about the red card for Klose again )

both teams have been disgraceful the last few minutes

no, Ivory Coast has been disgraceful. Kaka didnt do s**t, he was just stiffening up because he knew the Ivory Coast player was coming. nothing wrong with that.

kaka didn't do anything to get sent off, agreed, but they've been rolling around and crying as well. i'm not defending IC at all but I don't think Brazil did anything to quell the flames.

are you f**king kidding dude? Ivory Coast has been kicking them! idk if youve ever played soccer and gotten hit by cleats, but even the slightest tap f**king hurts.

i'm not kidding. IC was flopping and frustrated and in general pathetic. but i didn't see Brazil doing anything to maintain the high road.

you mean them trying to keep the flow of the game going by just playing soccer while IC continually kicked at them wasnt good enough?

they were obviously upset about the brutal and dirty foul on Elano. There was pushing by Brazil players--including Kaka--and there was quite a bit of acting from Brazil as well. Ivory Coast was worse, but thinking that Brazil was completely innocent is naive.

so what, is Kaka just supposed to stand by while one of his teammates get cleated? Idk if youve ever seen Kaka play, but he NEVER does that s**t, its obvious that he saw what IC was doing and was pissed. I woulda done the same. IC came in hard at every ball that Brazil had during the last 20 minutes. dirty f**king pigs.

Exactly. The fact that it was Kaka who got sent off is the supreme irony. If he thought that was worth a yellow card, then the enitre IC team (minus the goalkeeper) should have gotten a red.

I remeber a game very famous here in South america. It was Flamengo versus a team from Paraguay. Any way, that team was losing and hitting all the players from Flamengo, so the Flamengo coach called his worst player on the bench and sent him with just one task: "punch the captain of the opponent in the f**king face". And that's what he did.

If I was Dunga I would have considered doing that. Maybe with Kleberson.

Dang Brazil just play so well as a team. Its gonna be very very tough to beat them, they are the opposite of England.

fixed.
I missed the last half hour of the game but apparently another referee completely lost control of a game? With all of the questionable refereeing that's been going on I think FIFA should look into cutting down the number of referees it uses. I appreciate that we need refs from everywhere but isn't the WC about putting the best on display, no matter where they're from? Maybe just use an elite few to referee these elite games.

The problem is that FIFA's president needs to cater to a lot of countries to guarantee his election. That's why you have a referee from Mali. It's always about the votes.

I agree - after Brasil went up 3-Zip and the dirty play by IC increased,
I was calling for Dunga to get Kaka out of the match; they
seemed to be targeting him, and bring in The Bull (Batista), to equalise
some of that crap.
Brazilian, glad you are online - I respected Dunga as a player,
but have mixed feelings abut him as a Manager/Coach.
What is the general feeling about him in Brasil ?

Very s**tty officiating. Luis fabiano used his hands both times, players getting away with grabs and overall just a s**tload of Hollywood acting from both teams.

Luckily we won but getting worried about portugal

Why? Portugal is the one of the most overrated teams in the World Cup.

When he got the job, NOBODY liked it. Then of course, he started winning and now the fans support him.

However he is in a permanent war against the brazilian press. The brazilian journalists HATE him (but they do give him credit for his work) and he is notorious for his bad mood at press conferences.

Wow what bulls**t was that IC flop. That has got to be one of the worst that I've seen.
