Doesn't help that the HP ump basically is making Cahill throw everything middle of the plate in to be called a strike, nor that the ump down the line blew that check swing call.

Cahill didn't help his cause either but the guy is an all star, yet is treated like he's a no name rook by the umps with their balls/strikes.

Doesn't matter anyway, only way Cahill was gonna win this game is if he had pitched a CG shutout because the A's can't score.

Makes me sick to see Reggie who LIVES here locally is such a big part of the NYY tradition.

Remember he actually broadcast for the A's back in the early 90s but like with everything that happened after the Haas family sold the team, the last two owners have done s**t to promote the history of this team and bring back the old great players.

Now Rickey has been working out with the A's youngsters back in ST but I think when the A's brought back so many of their great stars in the 70s two weekends ago, that is exactly what they should be doing more often.

Sweeney...you deserve to be benched for a week for your half-ass attempt at catching the ball. If you don't want to play that can be arranged.

Damn, man...it's not even like the Yankee's are trotting out a lot of power.

A-Rod and Tex are the core of their lineup. Jeter, Cano, Swish, Granderson get on base so often. It's not your typical Yankees lineup of 6 guys that are gonna hit 30 HRs, but this offense definitely gets the job done. It's so efficient.

Well, that...and other pitchers have made a couple of Critical mistakes in this series.

Series like these just make you think how far the A's are from being contenders because of their lineup.

Granted their pitching got smashed although last night's game I'm still blaming on that f**king garbage home plate umpire. But offensively, they did nothing. NYY scored just as many runs as the A's had hits in the series.

A's have one HR this month, the HR by Rosales this past Sunday. No power.


In other news, Ross sent down back to AAA? Finally. These idiots in the FO kept this guy up here at least a month too much. He was getting no significant outings and was basically just wasting away in the pen getting mostly mop up duties.

Ross didn't spend much time in AAA last season either so to continue this charade of him in the pen for the past month plus, didn't understand what the hell they were doing with him in terms of development.


Also in the minors, Weeks FINALLY is back. He missed the last two months due to a hamstring issue.

Figueroa who was thought to be a breakout candidate this year for the A's at AA and he started off so well then struggled, well he hasn't pitched in weeks and now maybe know why as he's having elbow issues, SHOCKER, and has been shut down.

What makes this series even worse offensively for the A's is that both Vasquez and Burnett were struggling really bad.

Yet they looked like all stars pitching against the A's.

Taylor has been doing solid the past few weeks. Still not showing a ton of power but there is speculation by A's fans that he isn't 100% due to his diabetic issues and how that may affect his recuperation especially with his power which has been pretty non existent really since the first month.

10 XBHs in April....5 2Bs, 4 3Bs, HR in 85 ABs.

11 XBHs since...5 2Bs, 3B, 2 HRs in 169 ABs.


I don't know if being a diabetic makes your recovery slow down but this isn't good news if it's true especially considering the A's issue with health the past 3 seasons.

Wow this morning all reports were that SEA was gonna deal Lee to the NYY.

Now it's Lee going to the Rangers for their prized young 1B Smoak.

Don't know how this effects the A's. Getting Smoak out of the A's probable long term competition in the AL in TEX is good, him going to SEA where they look like they're in shambles is I guess better news.

9th inning was typical Geren. Pinch hit Sweeney and Cust, your 3 and 4 hitters albeit with only 4 HRs between them AT THE f**kING ALL STAR BREAK. As of now, you could argue those two are two of the top 4 hitters on this team and you pinch hit for them with minor leaguers/4th OFs types.

Nice.

Listening to the A's post game show and the fans have had just enough of Geren, although doubt Beane is gonna get rid of his best bud, aka best man at his wedding.

As much as I loved the onslaught tonight, I really started to feel bad for Scott Kasmir.

Aaaah, who am I kiddin...f**k the Halos! 13 earned runs pushed Kasmir's ERA up by 1 whole point in a single start. Crazy!

I'm surprised how bad Kazmir is now.

This guy was one of the best LHSP and an all star just a few years ago and now he's looking like he's completely done. Don't know if it's injuries or not but looks like he's heading down the same career path as the ChiSox's Peavy who also stinks now although him being supposedly shut down for the rest of the season may be a reason why he's been so bad.

Good win tonight. Least they beat up on a SP whos been struggling, something they couldn't do last series against the NYY.

As for Sheets, continues to build up his trade value.

Really only has had two awful starts this season. Back to back in late April and in early May where he allowed 17 ERs/19 hits with 4 Ks/3 BBs in 7.1 IP.

His other 17 GS his #s are pretty good...

105.1 IP, 97 hits, 39 ERs, 38 BBs, 78 Ks, 3.33 ERA/1.28 WHIP

...he's gone at least 6 IP in all but one outing and has allowed no more than 4 ERs.

Certainly hasn't pitched or felt like he's pitched like an ace this season but again, other than 2 horrible starts early on, he's pitched like at least a 3 in a rotation who if he pitched for a team with a better offense would probably have 7 or 8 wins this season.

A's have scored 12 runs or less in 12 of his 19 starts this season.

I doubt alone the A's could get much for Sheets but maybe if they add a prospect, some A's fans have thrown out the names of Cardenas at AA or even Stassi the C prospect down at KC as maybe pieces to sweeten the pot to land a better prospect(s).

Green is the A's rep whos tearing it up at Stockton. Wouldn't shock me to see him sent to AA sometime very soon.
