Donaghy tell-all book canceled after NBA reportedly threatens to sue
"Somehow, the NBA got wind of the project and let Random House know in a threatening-type correspondence that they would object to the publication of such a book and they threatened that they would sue if they did go ahead and do that," said Berdan, who didn't see any letters from the NBA. "Random House considered that and ... just pulled the plug on it."
"The NBA never threatened a lawsuit or anything else," NBA vice president of basketball communications Tim Frank wrote in an e-mail to ESPN.com.
Berdan said the book was vetted, including one final look by a senior attorney from Random House, and was ready to go to press when the company decided not to publish the book.
"Our supposition is that they became aware that the book is coming," Berdan said. "The major houses knew the book was coming. So it's conceivable that the NBA found out the book was forthcoming and it was a reaction to the general information. There's no question that they have a certain degree of contempt toward Donaghy."
Maybe I'm the only one who finds this interesting but anyway...
Excerpts from Donaghy's book...
Nothing you don't already assume, but still a little shocking to see some of it in print.

Something that's never talked about, because the Lakers won, was the Lakers getting completely hosed in Games 2 & 5 in the Sacto series...which is what Donaghy's deal references.
As far as the 2000 WCF's....did anyone else actuall, I dunno, WATCH that meltdown? Refs? Really?

I think Melo's the best scorer in the game today.

Free Clips tickets for Saturday night and Monday night:
https://oss.ticketmaster.com/html/group_corp_start.htmI?l=EN&team=clippers&owner=7410340&group=369&err=&event=&customerID=
All you have to do is pay $1/ticket service charge. I got tickets in the 218 section so pretty good deal even though it's the Clips.

Love his game. His J has the most fluid (and quick) release.

The Clips aren't even the worst team in the NBA and the tickets are $4 total for 4 of them. I'm not a fan, but come on, that's f'ing cheap.

This year? Probably not... but overall they're the worst franchise the NBA has ever had.
