I agree with you totally crzy. Problem is, I don't think he fits what we need. What we need is a true point guard that can play defense and has a pass first mentality. Unfortunately, I don't see any top PG prospect that plays good defense. But I do see a guy that is very fast, has great toughness, a proven winner and has a pass first mentality. In most years, I would never draft a guy like Lawson because I like the athletic, unlimited ceiling kind of athletes. Lawson also has an ugly jumper as well and is short and has short arms as well. But with the likelihood that we will pick in the 7th - 10th range, I think he is the logical pick. Although he's not a prototypical defender, what we have going for us is our league leading shot blocking ability. All Lawson really has to do is stay in front of his man. With his quickness and speed, I don't see that as a problem.

Tyreke would be nice and I wouldn't be upset if he became a Warrior, but I just don't think he brings as much to the table as Lawson in terms of a floor general.

sorry dude but HELL F**KING NO TO LAWSON!!!! i dont like college basketabll but i know enough lawson is definitely not worth the 7th pick yet imo a top 10. if we pick lawson this will just be another joke of a move by this organization

No offense taken. Just my opinion. Can you tell me why you feel so strongly about it? Give me details/examples. I agree in a normal year, Lawson is no way a top 10 pick, but guess what. This is a real s**tty year for the NBA draft. Can you even name 5 top 10 prospects for this year?

Ty Lawson is a good college player.

I just don't think he's a better prospect than Ricky Rubio, Jonny Flynn, Brandon Jennings, Tyreke Evans, Jrue Holiday, or Jeff Teague.

Granted, Lawson had an amazing tournament. But we know from history that putting too much stock in the tournament is a horrible idea.

Its just hard for me to love a player who is 5'11", has short arms and is an average athlete.

Like I said earlier, I can agree with that. I normally don't like players like Lawson. But again, I think this is a really bad draft this year so I'm just open to more options. BTW, I think Teague is a terrible prospect. He may have a PG body, but he has a SG brain. As for Jrue, I'll admit I've only watched 1-2 games and he didn't impress me at all. I can totally agree with you that Rubio, Jennings and Flynn are probably better prospects. John Wall is the guy I really want on our team but....

honestly i cant i just know hes a waste of a pick in the top 10, if this is such a crappy yr for the draft then we might a well trade it im sure there will be some teams picking low who fall in love with some guy they can take at our spot. no i cant name a few prospects only like griffin, rubio, thabeet, evans, jenning. i cant stand college ball and will not watch a second of it so thats why i cant name lots of them. all i can go is what other say bout them and im sure crzy wouldnt want lawson either at least not in the top 10.

Jrue Holiday has the best defensive potential out of every point guard/combo guard in this draft. It will take Jrue a while to get it, but as far as "ceiling goes".... there is no guard in this draft with a higher ceiling.




I took me a month to get over his disappointing season and tournament but now I'm back on the bandwagon.

Yea, he had a great game. But what happened to during the second half of the season. He was a ballhog and a terrible leader the rest of the way.

Their entire team fell apart, mostly due to poor coaching. Dino Gaudio is a terrible coach.

Teague is a ball-dominant player who makes a few questionable decisions, but I still think he's still a better NBA prospect than Ty Lawson. Teague is bigger, stronger, more explosive, is a better all-around scorer, and is a better defender.

For all these guys, their success will be entirely dependent on the offensive system that they end up in.

Jrue Holiday and Brandon Jennings need to be coached up. Holiday has a ton of raw talent but he just doesn't bring the intensity every play. Jennings has been humbled in Europe but he still needs to do a ton of work to improve his game.

Tyreke Evans and Jeff Teague, on the other hand, need to be controlled and reigned in.

Jonny Flynn has got to play on an up-tempo system.

Ty Lawson would be successful in an Aaron Brooks-type role.

On the court, he can be the chief ball distributor and off the court he can draw many Hispanics into the arena, even if he says catha instead of casa.

I don't think the W's would be that stupid enough to trade Randolph for a player they maybe view as a franchise player, Bosh, without then signing him to a long term deal.

But would anybody be shocked to see the W's pull a bonehead move and deal away Randolph, Nellie f**ked this team over a decade and a half ago by trading away Webber after his rookie season and the franchise still probably hasn't recovered from that move about 15 years later.

Can't find more of a disfunctional org maybe in all of sports than the W's.

-coach who probably at this time doesn't give a f**k, at least not till he surpasses Wilkins on the all time win list.
