Draft.

Crabtree, great pick. Finally have the potential #1 this team hasn't had since TO left although Bryant had the potential as he's showing in TB right now and Bruce showed some signs but he's just too old to be a legit #1 now. Hopefully Crabtree can work with both Rice and Bruce the next few months and they both can help him realize his potential. Honestly haven't felt this good about any draft in any draft.

Coffee I'm not so sure of. He looks like he'll be a solid #2 behind Gore, although I'd personally love to have given Clayton whos done very well the past two preseasons a legit shot, but doesn't look like the Niners FO believes in him much. I think drafting him that high was bit of a stretch. Maybe could've traded down and gotten another pick even if it was an extra 6th or 7th.

McKillop sounds like a "gamer" excuse the cliche. Was I believe the Big East defensive player of the year so that's good even though that conference is one of the worst major conferences in the college football higherarchy. Should make to be a ST ace, something I believe this team loss when they released K.Lewis and maybe at worst is a solid backup to a Willis.

Davis, eh we'll see. Funky delivery but is mobile and has a cannon albeit the ball always doesn't spiral out of his hand. Personally, I'd love to trade somehow for TB's J.Johnson the QB they drafted last year as sort of a project QB of the future. He's from here locally and since TB drafted Freeman, doubt they view Johnson as their QB of the future. The guy has crazy physical skills and put up ridiculous #s at USD even if it was against lesser comp but I'd love to have as my "QB of the future" project over most of these 2nd day QBs they drafted including Davis but we'll see right.

Pascoe sounds like he'll be another Bajema, solid blocking TE which would be nice to have two of in double TE sets with VD also being a great blocker.

Taylor don't know much about. I mean as a 7th rounder, who knows if he'll make the team especially as it seems S is "deep" for the Niners I guess with M.Lewis and Goldson as the starters and the backups including J.Williams,

Francois I'm intrigued about. Supposedly was a stud coming out of high school and just didn't live up to potential. Not the huge of Singletary backers but I think he can get the best out of some players that are underachievers, ahem VD. Glad the Niners finally address either line.

Am disappointed the Niners didn't address OL or the pass rush. I really wanted them to draft E.Brown, was a huge fan of his the past few months even thinking about drafting him at 10. 21.5 TFL and 13.5 sacks, I dont' care if he isn't a 3 down defensive player, he's a pass rusher this team IMO needed.

Haralson is solid as was J.Smith last year as he came on late in games but neither is that dominant digit sack artist this D hasn't had in about a decade since probably the 97 year when the Niners had that starting DL of Stubbie, Barker, Doleman and BY along with K.Greene who came over as a FA. Niners have been searching for a legit pass rusher since, missed on JP although he turned into a very good all around defensive player but not a dominant pass rusher and Carter had really one very good year in his second year in 02 with 12.5 sacks but didn't live up to the billing as a preimier pass rusher.

Lawson? Had high hopes but don't believe he'll be any better than Haralson. Maybe a poor man's JP in that he could develop into a solid all around defensive player but that 4.42 40 time many was excited about when he was drafted, well that doesn't translate into a great pass rusher.

Lets hope passing up on a E.Brown or Balwin in round two doesn't bite us in the ass this season as I personally have been complaining about a lack of pass rush for YEARS now. But at least the Niners got that extra 1st rounder from CAR in that trade. Even if CAR makes the playoffs, still could be a pick in the early to mid 20s which would be a 20 spot jump from that 43 spot in the 2nd round although who knows what will be there next year at that time.

Maybe address a pass rusher there if one doesn't step up this season in 09.

Give the draft B. Loved Crabtree but had some questions about day two.

I agree completetely with your analysis. I was also a big Everrette Brown fan but a lot of teams apssed on him which makes me think alot of teams had serious questions about him for whatever reason but he had skills. Forget the size,, Pittsburgh's guys are both very short but STUDS. I hope they're right on Browna s they obviously saw something they didn't liek in him.

The trade could be very good for us next year, if we can get a Sam Bradford type of QB next year or a few other difference makers. Looking at Carolina and our schedules, we could very well ahve two picks in the early to mid teens next year. Lots of options. Not fond of giving up the 4th though, we could've picked up an OLB there.

McKillop and Pescoe dont particularly excite me much, but I really like the Nate Davis pick. He has skills and could develop or could be used as trade bait next year to move up like the Jets did. I also think we could've traded down and gotten Cofee while picking up a later pick which we could've packaged with another pick to move up.

But I'm still buzzing about Crabtree and hopefuly Coffee turns into a great complementary back to Gore.

See Chavez's elbow is acting up again.

And the sky is still blue.

That'll be all.

4 players 1 game?

Shocker
Yay another loss!
Sucks for Anderson when he was dominating and it feel apart after that.

As for the health, new year same problems.
Ellis and Nomar to DL.

Hopefully Chavy will start playing more than every 5 day...
Game rained out.

Thank goodness, wasn't all that thrilled to see Outman start this one.
