"It's all anybody is talking about in the sports world, period," Sabathia said. "Different athletes that are my friends and guys that I know around my hometown, around here, around everywhere, you know. And to be able to be that guy to take that ball, it's going to be fun."

Yanks Near Decision On Center Field

New York Times - With spring training nears its end, the Yankees are expecting to soon announce who has won the starting job in center field, Melky Cabrera or Brett Gardner.

Manager Joe Girardi said he already had a "pretty good idea" of his choice, which he would most likely make final Sunday after meeting with general manager Brian Cashman.

"I want to go with a preset lineup every day," Girardi said. "We have two capable center fielders. It's not our plan to keep switching them around all the time. They've both played very well, but the guys who are going to start out the season need to get regular at-bats."

It f**king better be Brett Gardner!
Gardner wins Yanks' CF job

Well at least Joe has common sense.
Pettitte: This Is Best Yankee Rotation I've Been In

Boston Globe - Andy Pettitte believes this is the best five-man rotation he has been a part of during his many years with the Yankees.

"Yeah, definitely. Obviously, with CC [Sabathia] and A.J. [Burnett], it's looking like a rotation that's a huge improvement over last year. If we all stay healthy and our bullpen stays healthy, we look strong on paper, but you have to play the games," Pettitte said.

"Boston is so strong. Tampa is so strong. Baltimore is getting better. It's a tough division."
