as did Ireland
Mungia looked good against Cook. They want to set him up for Canelo next year.
I think he is still too raw and inexperienced.
Way too soon. I like the kid alot. Reminds me of kovelev.
I thought Cook would give him more trouble.

Fights are scored on aggression and ring generalship. You only get 10 points per round if you win.
Compubox is not an official way to score a fight. Just a stat.
Like a qb who throws 500 yards doesn't mean he wins the game.
Canelo from the second round dictated the fight. He had GGG fading with the body shots. He had GGG on the defensive.
I agree about aggression and ring generalship playing a role. Canelo really threw GGG off by coming forward early and often. Canelo was eating a stiff jab though so I can't really say he had GGG on the defensive. Just screwed up GGG's game plan that's all. GGG become the aggressor later on, but never really controlled the ring because Canelo almost always traded right back with power shots of his own. I believe the 12th rd was the deciding factor here, and Canelo was the busier fighter. Really close fight, GGG should have won imho, but I can't be mad that Canelo took the W.

I had it 1 round away from being a draw.
Either way I enjoyed the card.

Teddy Atlas said it best. Just because you are the aggressor doesn't mean you won the fight. Canelo was the bull in the fight, but GGG accepted that and became the matador. And after picking Canelo to win the fight all week long, he felt GGG should have won. I agree with him.

I can dig that but that tells you that Canelo took command away from ggg. That hasn't happened iirc.

Pretty much. This fight showed why Boxing is dying. It's a crappy system with crappy judges.

This post lets me know that you don't know what you're talking about. Showtime, pbc and top rank are thriving as well as the newly founded dazn.

Interesting thing I just remembered. Between the 8th and 9th round Abel Sanchez, GGG's trainer told him "You are losing the fight".
Even GGG's trainer knew he was down on the cards at that point.

GGG's trainer had it a draw. He said it post fight. Trilogy most likely. Too many casuals trying to be boxing judges.

See I don't think he did. He was wearing GGGs jab for a good potion of that fight. He landed a good amount as well, but to me GGG controlled that fight .

Yet compubox said Canelo landed more power shots.
Ggg walked his ass on home like a poor sport.
" I'm going to knock Canelo out. "
Nah dud
