The Collins release makes the least sense to me lol. At least Deebo was washed, Armstead could not stay healthy and Dee Ford was donezo. Collins was healthy, relatively productive, flashed and relatively inexpensive. Plus the tackles on this team rotate a lot so even if they loaded up on DTs in the draft hed be a part of rotation.

Yeah, I'm wondering what's going on there. We've just purged portions of the team and the plan is unclear.

i think it's safe to say that I think we will be on a bunch of 1 year deals this year and have to redo it all next off season

how cap room do we have now?

Probably somewhere in the mid-$30s. It is hard to keep up with so much movement right now. Also, it will take a few days for all the details to be released.

The biggest mistake we've made in recent years was redoing Deebos contract. That's why we owe him $31M this year in dead cap, we restructured him last year and i doubt they thought he would be traded.

If we only have $30M, then that's a sad story. Lol going to be tight - between Ward, armstead, and Deebo - we are tying up $60M+

Deebo's was bad. I'm afraid Trent's will prove to be worse.

My guess is that those type of restructures are what pissed of ownership. Those are big time mistakes.
I have read several posts indicating that ownership is unhappy with how the business is run. However, I have never seen any credible evidence to support that assertion. What have I missed?

Beat reporters are mad they don't have a mole anymore so they just fling poop and see what sticks. This reeks of the same vibe when we got reports if Shanny and Lynch not getting along and it was like right after they vacationed together or something like that.

Collins was not good. Same as Floyd.

Both were decent pass rushers but absolutely horrendous vs the run. Like replacement level bad.

Both Floyd and Collins were the among the worst run defenders in the entire league.

PFF had Collins at 168th out of 219 DT's vs the run.

We'll at least save money on Trent if he's cut/traded by April 1st next year.

Is TW's cap hit worse than Deebo's? I don't know too much about TW's latest deal.

It's the void years that is going eat at our cap. You just shouldn't do that for an aging vet.

I've only seen that crap from Cohn on a headline he had (I only read his articles when I don't realize they're his. Lol).

do i think ownership wants the finances tightened up? Yeah. Do I think there disappointed in the way some financial decisions have worked out? Of course. Even us fans are.

I don't think anyone is in trouble. Just they better have a damn good reason to spend money and restructured and a guy they believe will be around.

219 DTs? Man that's a lot of DTs for only 32 teams. That's close to 7 DTs per team.

Well it makes sense when compared to what's going on. He's the only guy telling the truth and asking the tough questions.

All the others seem to softball everything.

Yorks don't care about the salary cap, they are mad about $ being invested with no return in the form of Super Bowl trophies. They are also investing elsewhere so the can't keep throwing money at 2nd place.
AB, you are the best I know with the numbers. Can you give us your perspective with what is all happening please?! Specifically how this very high dead cap money affects salary cap money.
