AB, are we hindered by Jimmy G's contract because he's still on the team vs if we had already traded him?

Doubt it. They can talk to anyone they want. And can cut him anytime they want. If they really wanted someone they would just cut him first.

Yep, they're not hindered by it, if need be they could redo Trent's deal, or extend Ward, a lot of top FAs are unsigned due to the Watson thing taking this long, now thinks should go quickly, I hope.

Have terms for Ward & Burks.

Charvarius Ward:

$12.025M signing bonus, has 2 void years, $1.035M Base(2022), $13.56M Base(2023), $12.56M Base(2024), $340K per game roster bonuses(2022-2024), $100K workout bonuses(2022-2024), 2022 base is GTD, $5M of 2023 base is GTD, remaining $8.56M becomes GTD in 2023, likely April 1(Not sure, wasn't told)

Cap Numbers:

2022- $3.8M
2023- $16.405M
2024- $15.405M

Oren Burks:

$1.365M signing bonus, has 3 void year, $1.035M Base(2022), $1.9M Base(2023), $340K per game roster bonus(2023), $100K workout bonuses(2022-2023), unsure of base guarantees, I imagine 2022 is fully GTD.

Cap Numbers:

2022- $1.408M
2023- $2.773M

Wasn't given any incentives numbers, so Ward's deal is 3yr/$40.5M($13.5M APY), Burks is 2yr/$5M($2.5M APY), I have them at $4,414,615 under, before McCloud & Odum's deals.
why does the thread number keep going down

He's very solid and versatile. He's the Armstead of the back 7.

Nice job!

AB is the MVP.

He, by himself, is enough to get us over the hump!
AB if they were going to reconstruct Ebukam's deal wouldn't they have done so already? I'm really not understanding why they would bring him back at his price tag.

I thought so too. Maybe it happens eventually but I'm not getting their free agency moves in terms of the cap and Jimmy G. Not necessarily for me to get, but still, while we have improved on paper in some weak areas (special teams) and there is still the draft, that cap space is vital to us.

Because we are incredibly thin at ER.

I figured they'd do it if they were interested in signing a FA. They'll still probably do it as they get closer to the draft to ensure the have $9M for the rookie pool. Much cheaper pool this year since we start with a late 2nd round pick.

Could not disagree more. Armstead is and has always been the more impactful player.

Ward has never been a great player in coverage. He's had some moments in press but that's it. He grades well in run defense but it's mainly because he takes wide angles… he's never going to be a 10+ TFL guy because he's never held up as a pure SS.

What's the point of versatility when you're not actually good in multiple areas?

I think it's too early. Ebukam only showed up for a few games. He needs to expand that play to the regular season much of which he wasn't visible at all.

Yeah, there's always the chance they don't extend him but straight cut him.
As I said, it's nowhere near $3.65M a yr, https://49erscap.com/index.php/2022/03/23/contract-details-for-new-49ers-ss-george-odum-appear-to-be-in/

Comes in at $1.9M a yr.

His cap numbers are below(Thanks to OTC for the numbers).

2022– $1.435 million ($1.035 million base salary, & $400,000 prorated)

2023 – $1.84 million ($1.34 million base salary, $400,000 prorated, & $100,000 workout bonus)

2024– $1.625 million ($1.125 million base salary, $400,000 prorated, & $100,000 workout bonus)

I have us, before knowing McCloud, Johnson, Willis, & Wilson's terms, $3,804,615 under the cap, if McCloud has a similar cap number to Odum's, & the 3 re-signed got minimum deals with $152,500 bonuses, they'd be about $2.7M under.
https://49erscap.com/index.php/2022/03/25/contract-details-for-new-49ers-wr-kr-pr-ray-ray-mccloud-are-in/

McCloud's terms, courtesy of OverTheCap.

McCloud got a $1.75 million signing bonus, $1.035 million base salary for 2022, which is fully guaranteed, a $1.08 million 2023 base salary, which becomes fully guaranteed on April 1, 2023, along with a $135,000 per game roster bonus in 2023, and his APY is just $2 million a year.

His cap hits are below.

2022– $1.91 million ($1.035 million base salary, & $750,000 prorated)

2023– $2.09 million ($1.08 million base salary, $750,000 prorated, & $135,000 per game roster bonus)

The deal was reported as a 2-year, $10.4 million max value, so there must be $6.4 million in incentives in his deal, but I'm not sure at the moment what they may be.

Before Willis & Johnson's cap numbers, I have us at $1,890,546 under the 2022 cap.

Jordan Willis got a $1.035M base salary, and a $75K signing bonus, only $970K counts against the cap, have us at $1,815,546 under.
