23 m a year is an average. Not what he makes a year. This will be back loaded. 30 million signing bonus is spread over 5 years on the cap. He will get 30+ put in his hand this year but only cost 8-10 range this year. We had 28-30 to spend.

That's exactly right on the signing bonus, it spreads evenly against the capnover the length of the deal unless the player is cut, then the remainder hits at that point.

The salary is contractually dictated, but is almost never evenly distributed. A 2 year 40 million dollar contract could be 10 and 30 as easily as 20 and 20. We have to wait on the details of the structure to see, but given this year's cap compared to next year's I am confident that the bigger hits will be in years 2, 3, and 4.

Allowed to spread a signing bonus over 5 years so 6 per. And he will most likely get 10 year vet money or slightly over year one. 2-4 million this year is my guess. Plus the 6 bonus and cost 8-10 against cap this year. But gets 35-40 in hand.

Also remember salary cap is based largely on TV contracts and the NFL just signed 2 huge deals with Amazon and Disney. Direct TV Sunday ticket runs out next year and live tv contract runs out in 2023. So salary cap bout to explode. It's 182 this year and estimated to be 230- 250 in 5 years. So back loading is no big deal.
