The #49ers announced the team has signed TE Ross Dwelley and S Marcell Harris to one-year extensions and declined the 2021 contract option for LB Mark Nzeocha.

Don't count out the Jets (Saleh / LaFleur / Benton connections), Colts (Ballard has done an amazing job, plenty of cap space) and Cowboys (Williams is a TX native, and the Boys always have a way to navigate through tough cap crises).
The Jets are the biggest threat IMO. Sign T. Williams, move Becton to RT, and slide Fant to G. They can cut Van Roten and Lewis to mitigate a good chunk of T. Williams's contract.

. Lord knows before the news about our expected cap $23.509M space I was out on us being able to extend Trent without jeopardizing our ability to extend Juice, Verrett, and K'Waun.
I just didn't think we could afford the bidding war for him. Now, I'm confident we can extend all of our key UFA's, and a few key rotational players like Blair, Jorden Reed, or even Thomas.

If the jets do this again overpaying big name free agents then the new regime won't last long, they need to follow the 49ers pats and others who draft to build and use free agency to supplement, colts have been doing this under Ballard, I don't see them shelling out big bucks for a LT IMO,

it's a no-excuse position for all scenarios; they can improve protection significantly and trade up if their targeted QB should fall some in the draft.
