Simmons just got extended. He is almost literally untradeable this year. They could do it but the cap dead $ would be insane

His dead cap in a trade would only be about $30M spread out over 5 years, unless I'm reading Over the Cap wrong…

We're in a different era when it comes to the salary cap. $6M a year for a few years is basically nothing.

How about we see how McKinnley Jackson does.

I honestly don't know how it all works. I thought in a trade you take all the bonus $$ and split it over a max of 2 years?

Well, if it was low maybe the titans would be interested... In guessing we wouldn't be the only interested team but maybe saleh would do us a solid!

Why not Kris Jenkins?

I've been wondering if maybe the Niners are planning to play Mykel Williams at DT a lot more or maybe even full time. Kid is excellent against the run. Plays inside some already. That coupled with the fact that he's not a sack threat off the edge (yet at least). I know he's great setting the edge in the run game so that might keep him outside in base formations. Just thought that maybe this could be something they look at while trying to acquire a true EDGE in the trade market this year. Thoughts?

A couple of YouTubeers reviewed the run defense in the Rams game, and they basically said Osa and Halton really were key in stopping the run, add in Dugger, in addition Raheem started run blitzing when the Rams started running the ball better. So I don't know how much McKinnley will play if Dolphins go with a run heavy game plan.

Personally I think a guy like McKinnley will play in certain sub packages, versus be one of the main rotational bodies on base defense.

He is a DE he would get destroyed playing DT full time.
