It's that time of the year when we all put on our "expert" cap and predict the results of what lines up to be a very interesting, and challenging season. No prizes, just bragging rights. You can enter/adjust your prognostication up until the first game time. I'll update the list every couple of days. Members only but joining is free, so sign up. (Also the Pick-em button is live again.) To add some interest, include a short defense of your pick. The roster is all set. Not a lot of surprises, but some interesting players to follow. A lot of good "old guys," key guys, on the roster this year...but will they stay healthy? That is the big question. The WR room is typical. If Old Guy Mike Evans stays healthy, along with the return of Old Guy Deebo, plus young Stribling, and the rest, it is a strength. Brock Purdy should have his best season yet. RB room, with Old Guy McCaffrey and a couple of young studs behind him, looks like the best we have had in a while. OL will always be a talking point but if Puni plays back to form and Old Guy Trent continues on, will the talk be more positive this time around? The defense, with a not yet old Fred Warner leading the way once again, plus the return of Dre, and addition of Osa, should be better and more balanced than last year...but will the young guys solve the run game defense. Will Bosa look like a young guy again or more like an "old guy"? That is the key question. If he doesn't, will Romello be the guy? Will Brown finally live up to his draft position in the back? Will Jack Jones be the phenom he was in training camp or the on-again, off-again player he has all too often been in the past? As always, lots of questions but that is what makes it interesting. Then there is the schedule; At this time last year it looked like we had the weakest schedule in the league but it turned out to be stronger than projected. This year there is no question. We have a very tough schedule. Wins will be hard earned. After the Rams game, which will feel like a home game, we play four of our next five games as home. That should help settle things in early. However, beginning on November 29 we have a tough stretch with the Seahawks at home, then a long trip to New York, followed by the Seahawks at Levis on Sunday, then Thursday night against a good Chargers team here. From there until the end, it will be playoff football every week. I love it! If this is finally our year to stay healthy, this could be a season to remember. IF the youngsters on Defense develop fast.

IF these 2 things happen it is 12-5 and a trip to the playoffs.

Being an older team doesn't mean mor einjuries. Look at the mst recent injuries the Niners have had. Pearsall. Williams. Jordan James. Guerendo. Aiyuk. Purdy. All of them are young. The only older players that had serious injuries were CMC 2 years ago and Bosa and Warner last season. Trent Williams has sme issues but nothing serious. I looked it up to see if older alyer sget injured more oftem=n and most sites said there's no statistical evidenc ethat they do. Injuries are random and rookies get hurt just as often. The bigges tissue for olde rplayerfs is rehab. It can take an older player longer to recover.

Well lets see

Brandon Aiyuk went full Antonio Brown
Paraag finally fired himself and went to soccer
Jed York got divorced and tried to have sex with prostitues and got arrested
Kyle Shanahan had a car crash

With all that being said, they will probably shock the world and win a Superbowl as a 7th seed. Rams and Seahawks will be 1st and 2nd place.

i think we win the opener, trade some mid season lumps due to injury, then finish strong again.

Rams will probably have a better record, but we will make the playoffs edging out the Seahawks who will take a step back.

Hard to predict until I see the actual starters play a full game. 9-8 or 10-7. Then again, if the stars align and if they have a healthy season and they come together midway through the season

12-5. They should keep us entertained.

A lot of questions to be answered. Beating the lambs to start the season would be a good start LOL……….Go Niners
