This is going to to continue to happen against speed rushers due to how putrid his footwork is. The guy gains no ground at all in his drop despite being "super athletic."

i think this is a classic case of where he needs a year in PS.

Hes coming to the NFL with a very complex offense and obviously was not asked to do a lot of the stuff he is being asked to do here. He has all the physical tools so we should just reevaluate after a year where he can just practice and learn technique and the offense better

If we had drafted Zion Young, I'd be so concerned now. If you can't get past a guy with as awful footwork as Cruz, IDK if you'd beat anyone at the NFL level.

He can't anchor at all. He's an athlete trying to play a football position and doesnt really know the nuances. But yeah he'd be such a longshot project I dont think hes worth keeping on the roster over some other bubble guys. Cut him and see if he clears waivers, if not - whatever.
He's starting tonight and will be responsible for protecting Purdy's blindside. I hope he's up to the task.

Where did you see this ?
I hope he finished his degree because...uh...his future might not be in football.

Certainly not as a tackle.

He really does not have all the tools. He has almost no tools. The combine showed that he can sprint in a straight line. The game film showed a guy barely worth considering as someone you would pay to play football.
A year on the practice squad would be best case scenario for the kid

Cruz plays like Lawrence Okoye

Yep. Just work on technique and try to align his amazing athletic profile with game nuance.

Great callback!
There's no way in hell this guy should make the team. Imagine having this guy an injury away from being on the field against Myles Garrett...

If he gets picked up by another team, whoopty f**king doo. Good luck to them turning this guy into an NFL player. I try not to be so harsh with rookies, but holy f**k, he is HORRIBLE. The guy looks like he recently started playing the sport of football.

KP sees it the same.
