the best comparison I now have on him is Jimmy Smith of the Jaguars ... back in the days !!

I would love to know how you got to that comp...

funny you asked... i found my old VHS and the watched the Ambush in Mile High (1997)... Jimmy Smith body language just reminded me some of Bling Bling's movement.

Lol. Smaller in height and weight and ran a 4.58

was not comparing Smith's numbers to Blings.

Smith must have been a 6'1" vs Blings 6'2" ? woooopeeee - big difference

Weight must have been 205 to 208 - what a difference

Speed - from what I remember, Jimmy Johnson was so impressed of Smith out of Jackson State that he took him in the 2nd round.. just did not work out in Dallas.. but i do remember he ran a good 40..

That's wild man lol. I'll be honest I haven't gone back to look at Jimmy Smith tape but from what I remember of his game that would not be a name I'd pull out of my butt to bring up lol.

But guess if Stribling wants to play like Jimmy did in the prime of his Jags career that would be perfectly fine with me. His career with Dallas...no thanks.

What does he know about WR's, he's just a DB!

But seriously, I love his take on Stribling. That certainly is the potential upside of this player. Too soon to call him a game changer, but the potential is definitely there.👍🏆👍🏆👍

I agree but I was hoping to see him in the 80's.

Jennings was a nice receiver but he's hardly a 49er icon. Not like he's asking to wear #80. No reason Stribling should wear #15 if he wants to.

No but its a bit fresh, if thats the # he wanted then of course he should have it. I think an 80s number would have look good on him.

#11 isn't technically a available. I wonder what the rules for plays getting the same number as another, on the 90 man roster.

he can change his number after roster cut downs.

87 or 88 would have looked nice. Seems like in recent history, a lot of WRs are opting for 1-19 instead of the 80s.

I was thinking the last time we had a starting WR wear 80s Anquan Boldin
I don't know if he's not comfortable in front of the media, socially awkward or what, but his personality reminds me of Nick Bosa. They've both got that super calm, low energy thing going on.

15 was Crabtree then Jennings and now Stribling. Here's to hoping he's the best one yet

It's his Hawaii vibe. He's a chill dude. I wouldn't expect any future drama from this guy which would be a welcome sight with the drama our receivers have caused us lately.
