He has played outside quite a bit for the first couple years with the Raiders. He can play all 3 positions

Idk what this signing means. Because Upton fits this mold. Unless you move one of them to the outside, which means you are ready to shop Green or Lenoir.

Jakob Robinson will also compete in camp for a pot (depth maybe). He was talked up a lot leading into regular season before he injured his forearm... some folks speculated that he had solid chance of cracking the 53 last year

I really like Robinson. He's a playmaker and breaks on the ball which is what the niners have needed ever since…….D Sanders. Sad it's been that long

What do they mean Packers played him out of position? He seems to play outside and in the slot when he was with the Raiders. Did the Packers put him at Safety?

You're right, he played a lot on the outside for the first year or so of his career and then they moved him to slot corner for the majority of the snaps. Then, as a packer, they played him in the slot and once in a while outside and he didn't do well in that system. On the Raiders, here was pretty solid. Very good speed and can backup slot and outside cb positions

I asked Kyle Shanahan about new 49ers DB Nate Hobbs... he said that SF actually tried to trade for Hobbs when he was with the Raiders... The 49ers are intrigued by Hobbs' inside/out CB versatility. Not thinking of him in the safety mix at this point
