I 100% agree he is better than green. I don't think he's clearly better than demo.

I wouldnt have hated signing him but for the price of woolen we got hobbs, greenlaw and tonges. I think that is a better route to go but I guess we'll see

With the limited salary cap room they can create it makes no sense to give a CB up to $15M on a 1yr deal, if it was a 2yr deal sure, but not on a 1yr deal.

I actually agree with this AB; I would've done a multi year deal with Woolen. 1 year up to 15 is kinda dumb

Seems to be really good/willing tackler. Only 26 and played a lot of games for the Raiders in his first 4 seasons. Green Bay liked him enough to give him a 4 year 48 million contract just last year. Hobbs had multiple Knee injuries last year and only started 5 games for the packers. Assuming he is currently healthy then it seems like solid competition option for a CB spot considering the price.

Woolen single handely nearly cost the Seahawks the playoff game vs the Rams.

Yeah and that was after he made a helluva play. It was no different than the penalties Greenlaw would get us. Woolens problem is the penalties from taunting and things of that nature; that's why he got benched, it wasn't due to his play on the field. He's a top notch CB and can easily be one of the best in the NFL if he gets that stuff together.

If he doesn't work out, meh its just a 1 year deal.

I actually think he will be a dog with us, physical style matches the guys we have.

He also single handedly gave the 9ers week 1.

He also single handedly has more interceptions than our entire secondary combined. lol you guys calling him out for one play; one where he was penalized after taunting the sideline after making a huge play and the other where it could easily just as well have been an incompletion or interception.

Cause we all know ONE play "single handedly" in the most team sport in team sports there is; is the reason for wins and losses right? Quite the contradiction when people are defending 49er players over the years

Whatever; I'm done hijacking Hobbs thread. Kid is a dawg and I'm happy we got him. I really hope they open the competition up for him to take the #2 or #3 spot

Meh, he's too inconsistent for me.

As far as the Hobbs deal goes, he's a dog but can't stay healthy. He's best in the slot and we aren't putting Stout on the bench.

good depth and can play multiple spots. Think he's best suited in the slot or maybe some play at safety. He's gotta focus on staying healthy.

Does it really matter? Even when we get guys that have been completely healthy then end up getting hurt here

Yup agree on Hobbs. If nothing else he's great depth that can play both outside and the slot; and yes he's better in the slot. Hopefully he can stay healthy; man I feel like we say that waaaaay to often about our guys every single season
