The Khalil Mack trade happened in 2018. If the Raiders had traded with us, we would have had to give up our 2019 first rounder, so no Bosa in that scenario.

Not getting Mack was a good thing. Two first for a non qb isnt a good move to me.

For sure, Osa could do special things in this front. I've been a fan since College. The guy is a unit with little body fat—the quintessential modern day 3 tech.

2 things I'm concerned about going to the year:

1) Osa wearing down from teams spamming double teams at them. Raheem needs to mix things up with the base front, or this is inevitable. He's not a massive IDL whose built to absorb that type of punishment week in and week out. If the 49ers stay in a static base wide 9, him wearing down is going to happen. This happened to Hargrave, Collins, etc.

2) Osa getting no help. Raheem needs to get him 1-on-1s as well as the other guys stepping up and staying on the field. If opposing OLs only have to worry about Osa, everything is going to slide in his direction every single week.

Well obviously Bosa was the wrong pick in hindsight, but the point really was that there is no scenario where we paired Khalil Mack up with Nick Bosa.

Agree, and match him with a healthy Bosa and I can see pass rush magic happen. Hopefully both will stay 💯% healthy throughout this Season.

Excited to watch Osa wreak absolute havoc in the Rams backfield Thursday night

I've seen some criticism towards Osa, but I thought he had a good game. That OL is tough to beat up the middle, and he was getting his wins. The interior pass rush will never be as sexy as the edge. The numbers game in the middle will always favor the IOL.
