We needed to draft a penetrating 3T DT this year and Osa is better than anyone in the draft (especially in the 3rd)

We also have him under contract for 3 years

The only negative is his contract isnt on the rookie wage scale

This is a good move for a team that wants to remain competitive now

This and the Mike Evans moves tell you we think our SB window is still open

We don't know if other teams were interested which would also drive the price.

He f**ks s**t up 😈

I think one of the NFL Network or ESPN guys said that 5 teams had called the Cowboys including us so I think there were other interest in him.

You think 49ers got a chance to get him if he gets release instead?
I can't imagine they would've had to release him its highly unlikely the 49ers weren the only team in on him and it took a late 3rd essentially a 4th as someone mentioned earlier to seal the deal.

If our DL stays healthy nobody is going to care about the difference between a 3rd and 4th rounder when they're closing out games for us.

How good is he? I'm not familiar. Someone educate me. Lol

Ttremendous pass rusher. One of the best penetrating 3Ts in football, dude gets in the backfield and is ferocious.

He wasn't gonna be released, his entire base salary & per game roster bonus are fully GTD, they'd have lost cap room by releasing him, they needed to trade him to save the $4.5M they saved.

solid line, just need good depth now

Having huff and white as backup DEs isn't too shabby. But overall agree

I dont know if he would get released, but generally if teams know a team is going to have to let go of a player, that player's value usually tanks.
Does he have trouble finishing sacks/tackles? All the advanced stats say he's amazing but he doesn't pop that much on the stat sheet.

My guy, go watch the film, kid is a baller. He was never getting released. Someone was gonna trade for him.

how about we be happy we got a top end pass rushing DT, I mean we probably throw away that 3rd rd pick on a RB again anyway. Enjoy the moment people. We got a good football player I his prime. Between this and Evans it gives SF tons of flexibility in the draft.

i know you are the cap guy, but if they didn't need to get rid of him... then why get rid of him?
I think he had most QB hits last season along with all his pressure stats. A 3rd for a pass rushing DT, I like it.
