One key trait I also keep an eye on for my ideal centers prospects are guys who can snap and pull

You can see 49ers OL Brett Toth pull really well here pic.twitter.com/LWu6FUn6jh

Two examples of 49ers Brett Toth in pass protection
— Brad (@Graham_SFN) March 11, 2026
First rep his base stands out here with the wide base, clean feet and good pad level
2nd rep shows he's alert to the stunt and passes off well. The hip swivel here is a good indication of his movement ability

I know this is probably crazy talk since the Niners love him BUT would love to see Toth send Brendel to the bench once and for all. Sounds like the Eagles viewed him as a center despite being their swing everything on the line.

Solid signing. It's better depth than we've had. Overall it improves the oline.

Seems like a nice signing, 73.6 pff grade, 363 snaps, a vet. Instant upgrade

Me too, smacks of interior cover, but wouldn't surprise me if he's better than Brendel and Burford/Bartch. I still want to add a few OL in the draft. Let them sort it out in camp.

The front office needs to build quality/good depth on both lines. These OL signings so far have been a step in the right direction but they really need to hit on the draft picks. Maybe with a little luck we can land 2-3 guys that can contribute this season. We better have an answer of that Seattle DL.

Hey guys eagles fan here. Imo he is one of the worst eagles lineman we've had the past decade. For some reason stout liked him but he'd look terrible in camp and preseason nearly every year and get cut. We'd bring him back on practice squad and he'd stick around that way. Hes very smart so stout liked he can mentally play every position. Also had this weird skill that he can gain and lose weight very quickly. That being said it's not a coincidence that last year was where he played the most games and made the team. It was our worst oline in 25+ years (we've been spoiled in that regard). As a guard he's nearly unplayable. Just bad player. As a back up center at least you can say he somewhat made himself serviceable but you can do a lot better. He's the type of player I feel like coach's love cause he will do anything and very smart but when it's time to play he just isn't a nfl caliber player. Great guy but just not good. He couldn't play center til this past season mostly cause he literally couldn't snap the ball. Took him his whole career to figure out how to do that. Mostly shot gun snaps is where he is brutal at. Wish him luck but man good riddance

Well, it's clear you don't know anything about the quality of the oline depth on the Niners roster right now. We will happily add this guy to our depth chart lol

Fits the profile of what this regime likes. He can play multiple spots along the interior of the oline. Imo nothing to see here other than a depth signing who can back up multiple spots including center.

lol this is true hahahah. I understand I'm coming from a place of privilege here. Eagles oline has been top 5 in nfl nearly every year I've been a fan. So when we have a mediocre year like last year it's eye popping.

Cool story my guy, our front office is way ahead of you tho
HC, O line coach and GM are probably all giddy and passed out from excitement by now

Won't be hard to do (skill wise). Hennessy off the bench already proved he can do no worse than Brendel at a cheaper price. This guy can do the same, but Brendel is Shanny's / Foerster's love child... hard for any back up to break up their bond
