Before we go writing personnel fairy tales for how to compete with Seattle, I would love to see a full and complete breakdown of MacDonalds defensive performace of the last six weeks by johnny del or someone.

What they did against pretty good teams, including us, was extraordinary. How do they get everyone covered, always? Literally, even on the completions there is a db right in the guys face. How did he hang 7+ sacks on McDaniel? I want a breakdown because his concepts were beyond dominant. He only had 3-4 "name" players -- emmanoworri, leonard, demarcus, nwosu. Some people might say witherspoon but I wasn't overly impressed.

How?

Left side of the Pats oline is garbage. Why do you think the Broncos, Texans, and Chargers also had 5 sacks each on Maye in the playoffs. Seattle has good safeties in Love and Bryant and Ernest Jones was a huge pickup for them. Probably only week link on defense is Woolen, and on offense, their RG Bradford. They probably have the #1 S/T unit in the league as well. Best punter. Best returner. And Jason Meyers is consistent as the best of them. That is a huge part of their success.

i think theres a scheme component to the success. id like to see it analyzed. Over the last few weeks only a hyper elite thrower playing at mvp level was able to generate offensive danger against them.

When he was with Baltimore on the Christmas day game in 2023 he made our great offense look like s**t. It's something he does in his scheme i can't figure out. McDaniel is a defensive savant.

That Baltimore D was also loaded with talent…and yet that team still lost the AFCCG to KC. I can't remember how that game went down and I do remember the Chiefs D was the strength of their team, but Reid had to have figured out enough to score enough to win that game.

That Christmas game, Brock was just not seeing the field well that day and threw a bunch of picks. I think he's grown to be a better QB since then and learned to not take so many risks when playing elite defenses. When he played Seattle this year, even in the 2 losses he didn't look overwhelmed like he did against Baltimore. He was making plays with his feet and taking what the defense was giving him. It was clear that we our skilled positions just couldn't matchup against that D and our interior O line is soft.

The personnel gap is the primary reason why Shanahan is falling short against Macdonald. Our WRs are clearly the least talented group we've had in his tenure, sans his first 2 seasons.

I watched that AFCCG. Both offenses struggled - 27 combined points and only 3 total scored in the 2nd Half. Ravens finally gained momentum and were in position to steal the game late when they began making mental blunders I.e. celebration penalty. Chiefs baited them through out the game into after the whistle penalties.

Ravens had almost 3 times the penalties and lost the turnover margin 0-3. If I had to pinpoint something the Chiefs did well on Offense for the scope of this discussion - 3rd Down conversions. 8 of 18. They never abandoned a mediocre rushing output and Mahomes dinked (241 yards off 30 completions) to dominate ball possession.

Ravens have not recovered from this loss as their Offense performed poorly.

Id love to see a few breakdowns from johnnydel and others. The last six weeks have been impressive. Its been a real clinic. Only peak stafford has been able to hang yards on them. Not good news for the rest of the nfl.

The reason Brock was overwhelmed, the O line not giving him any space. Brock also did not use his legs like he does now..I agree though Baltimore did have a lot of talent which i think threw the team off. McDonald's scheme made it super hard to shred their zone coverage which disguised his man options. It seems like he's good at confusing the QB. The Ravens lost to the Queefs for the same reason we do, poor officiating and Spags D play calling. I still believe the Ravens were a better team but chocked the game away.

You realize the front office and the coach are completely different operational facets, right? Are you 12?

EDIT: 4 posts since 2023 lmao

Am I 12? Lol good one , coming from someone that can't seem to comprehend that everything starts from the top down. If you think Jed York and his lack of drive and dedication to our "Quest for 6" has nothing to do with our direction (including Kyle ) then you are delirious, like most fans these days 😂

Edit: Ive been on this board since 2005 my guy, but of course, your reply says everything, didn't mean to hurt your feelings 🤡

You don't seem to enjoy being a Niner fan. Maybe you should just leave.

LOL I don't enjoy being a niner fan because i have an opinion? Make it make sense. If i didn't feel strongly then that would insinuate that i could care less. Were you even around for the ken dorseys and Cody pickets? I remember both 2-14 seasons. I've invested my time and money into both candlestick and Levi along with countless jerseys.

Maybe you should wake up to reality buddy

After a few days, I still don't understand how Seattle literally came out of nowhere, finally became a relevant team again then just instantly won it all. wtf??? No build up or adversity playoff losses young teams usually go through, nothing. They won the first year their window opened meanwhile we're in year 10 of this regime with nothing to show for . s**t like this should piss off the entire organization and fanbase. Time and patience has officially run dry. They are on the clock, gotta get it done. Now or never.

Comes down to luck. Seattle this had only 1 other elite team to contend with this year: the rams. Other than that, the rest of the league was just playing bad football overall this year. In any other season, our aging and injured roster wouldnt manage more than 10 wins. And the AFC was so freaking weak that that fraudulent patriots team showed up to the SB. Whereas our teams peaked in years where the Chiefs, Rams and Eagles were also peaking.

True. I feel so many teams missed a golden opportunity, especially on the AFC side if the Chiefs bounce back full force. I doubt we'll see the brackets this depressed again but hey, somebody had to take advantage. Just sucks it had to be the clucks
