Not that many tbh
Just WR, DE and DB
Can get most of it in FA and take BPA in the draft. Looks to set up well.

Anyone think we might make some splash signings in March?
No doomer answers. I'm mainly asking from a cap perspective, meaning whether we are in a position to do that given we went into savings mode last offseason.

This f**king team never takes BPA! And that's why their drafts suck, they go in we need this and are stuck on that position/player. Tyler Warren as probably BPA last draft and we passed because we were hell bent on dline

Have to agree. We fall in love with players. We think we're playing 4D chess.

mcdonald is a lot more impressive to me than ben johnson, to build this plug-and-play defense that has no elite blue chip talent besides maybe Witherspoon (ok Emannawori was a very boom or bust player) but just suffocates you is crazy. the only defense in the league thats close is Houston, but Will Anderson was a top 3 pick for a reason plus Hunter is an established elite pass rusher.
its easier to have a qb who has superstar traits bail you out like ben johnson does
sorry, sort of offtopic but wanted to address the previous post
Off topic, but this is a good post. I'm curious to see Seattle against the Bears, only because it would give us a look at an elite offensive mind with all of his players verses McDonald's scheme. Hoping for a Bears win. As for the AFC side, go Texans.
DeMeco and Cesario have built the defensive version of what we had 2021 - 2023 for the Texans. Going to be interesting to see how this all turns out because the only elite offenses remaining are the Rams and Bears and one of those teams is going down.
With that said, no matter who wins the Super Bowl, this place is going to be insufferable. If it's Denver, they would do it with no QB, A LOT of our ex-players, and only two years removed from having 70 points dropped on them. If it's the Texans, we'll be happiest, but the Ryans vs. Shanahan stuff will start. If it's New England, we fall further behind in all-time Super Bowls. If it's the Bears, then Ben is automatically better than Kyle and ditto for McDonald. If it's McVay, god no. Probably the worst outcome.
With all that said, Kyle is 2-3 against McDonald and we had the M.A.S.H. unit this year and were terrible last year. So the idea that we are so far behind the Seahawks or Rams is silly. If anything, it's pretty interchangeable with all three teams as I could see any of the three winning the west for the next few seasons. The one edge we have is that Brock is the youngest and best of the QBs, but Seattle and the Rams are drafting better. We need a homerun of a draft and guys from our 2024 and 2025 draft classes to take the next step.

I honestly don't mind the Williams pick, but I do wonder what we'd look like if we adopted that philosophy. With that said, I don't think Warren changes yesterday's result at all, but the offense would truly be special with him in it. I can't see them using that high of a pick on a TE unless it's the second coming of Kittle however.

I like Williams' potential but damn he better develop as a pass rusher. Warren wouldn't have made a difference because our d was screwed with injuries but he would be a god send now with Kittle dealing with serious injury . We just need to draft the best players no matter what position, we really are lacking on playmakers all of a sudden

I agree but Williams was kind of bpa there with maybe 2 others same tier etc. it's just nuts he got hurt. We need a killer draft for sure.
The only thing we don't need is QB. They could literally draft any other position and there's a chance it's an upgrade over who we have.

we don't have a number one receiver.
our oline has no talent across the board and there is no left tackle replacement.
Our tight end is old and tore his Achilles.
our RB is on the wrong side of 30 and we have no replacement.
our dline is hot garbage. Worst in the league. Can't get to the qb and can't stop the run. Bosa is injury prone and can't stay healthy. West and Colins are mediocre.
our linebackers stink outside of Warner. and he's in the wrong side of 30.
our safeties are garbage.
Lenoir and stout are fine but green sucks.
this team is devoid of talent. Lynch can't draft. We have wasted a multitude of picks at wr and rb and none have panned out. We have failed to address the oline.
the only bright spots are Purdy and piniero. That's the truth.
it is sickening to see Seattle build this juggernaut. It is sickening to see the the rams dominate. It hurts to see the Seahawks patriots broncos and Texans all build their teams with new coaches over the last year or two, only for the zone to tell me there is nobody else out there.
and before you start talking about injuries- the only real injury on offense vs Seattle was kittle. And they only scored 6. I understand the argument for the defense, but there was no excuse for that offensive performance.
The Seahawks may be getting their second Super Bowl in 13 years. The rams may be getting their second Super Bowl in 4 years. Here we are 30 years and going. And facing a roster that at a minimum is 3 years away from really contending. Just sad.
Sigh. We don't agree much generally, but after giving things considerable thought this morning, I came to many of the same conclusions.
It's very hard to be optimistic about this team. I especially agree about your point regarding spending endless wasted draft capital on WRs and RBs. Some of these guys have talent, yet they never see the field. It's inexcusable that James and Watkins received so little playing time. And what about Guerendo? He looked promising last year. Nowhere to be found.
I've said this before: Lynch has really sucked all of the life he could out of those early draft classes. With the exception of Purdy (who was truly just a lucky pick), the leaders of this team were all either drafted in the early years of this regime (Kittle, Warner, Bosa) or acquired by trade (CMC, Trent). Let that sink in. And remember, Lynch has had some major whiffs, too. Forget about rounds 2 - 7. How about round 1? Solomon Thomas, Reuben Foster, Mike McGlinchey (who wasn't good enough to reward with a second contract), Javon Kinlaw (after trading away Buckner), and Trey Lance. All busts or under-performers.
For those who feel the last two drafts have been solid, it's too early to tell. But, in my opinion, they aren't looking great. Ricky can't stay on the field, Green is trash, Puni has regressed, and the same is true of Mustapha. Sure, Mykel Williams looked solid before getting hurt, but he'll never be a dominant edge rusher. Collins, West, and Stout have flashed, but we've seen many promising rookies completely tank in their second years and beyond. Think about Pettis, Ji'Ayir Brown, and others.
Add our poor drafting to a coach who is ruthlessly stubborn and we won't win a Super Bowl at any point soon.
Expect CMC for three yards over and over next year. That's all we know.
P.S. it's time for Bobby Turner to retire. He is just as much to blame for CMC getting ground to dust as Kyle.

Every pick in the 1st and 2nd rounds on this year and next year's draft should be committed to oline/dline. Use FA to sign your WR CB Safety etc. Use the backend if the draft to build some depth. But the first 2 rounds should be committed to the trenches.

You're going to be disappointed lol. You will get a WR and an RB, and you will like it!

I agree, I think we need a new GM with a new vision and approach. losing GM power may cause Kyle to say he wants out . I think the change is needed and if Kyle want out that sucks. If that happen the new GM will have to hire a new coach. So they need to do it now so they have off season the hire coaches if they need to.

So many holes. Let's just get the best players available. With this said I wouldn't mind being able to land TJ Parker (edge rusher) out of Clemson. May have to trade up to land his ass.

They need to have some good drafts and keep adding young talent. We need to add dynamic speed on offense.
The last draft looks promising. There are 4 starter level players from it with Williams, Collins, West and Stout. We will see if anything more arises. Need a similar type draft next year and 1-2 FAs.
