Unfortunately, a lot of 49ers fans -- especially those who post in the Game Day Thread -- don't seem to understand how ENERGY works.
It's one of the reasons I tend to stay out of the Game Day Thread, when the Niners are playing. Visited a few times this season, but I feel
it's time to revert to my previous position, of waiting until after the game before visiting the thread. Too much negative for this fan !

Both of these comments are incredibly weird considering what transpired on the defensive side of the ball tonight. I don't think I saw a single negative post about the offense other than in the beginning with the Purdy pick 6. Fans have EVERY right to be pissed and upset with what "defense" walked onto the field tonight.

The Gameday thread is a digital projection of how you would behave at home if you are watching the game with a bunch of friends. I don't know about how others do it, but if I was sitting with a pal that was playing cheerleader while the defense was getting hosed, I'd kick him/her out. You deal with raw emotions while you're in the moment. It's quite common to say things like "we suck" or "this game is over" when th going is tough. Conversely when the team is excelling you cheer and make comments like "SB here we come" and "no one wants to face this team".

But I guess some of you guys just watch games with a bunch of friends holding hands watching the defense get torched and say "it's okay…they're trying their best we forgive them".

Because he was attacking the ball. He has a right to it as much as JJ. He made a good play and tipped the ball. Not sure JJ even touched it…

We got called for a dpi last week for way less than what bears guy did tonight.

To be clear I'm ok with a no call if you're going to be consistent. Later in the game we got an illegal contact on some b******t ticky tack stuff. That's my problem with these calls/non calls. You let them play but randomly decide when to call ticky tack s**t???

So, I just checked in on a Bears fan forum to see how they were taking the loss. You'd think with the kind of reputation Chicago sports fans have that there would be a lot of the same handwringing and bedwetting that goes on in this forum after a loss. Much to my surprise, in the 10 or so pages I looked at, I saw hardly any of that. Their fans seem to have appreciated the effort and were certainly disappointed in the way their defense played but showed it in a somewhat more respectful manner than goes on in here. Forty-whiners is probably a well-earned sobriquet.

Well bears haven't been relevant for like 8 years, so I'm pretty sure that has something to do with it. This year theyre in the playoffs so I'm sure thats why theyre more optimistic.

When you finally get out of Aaron Rodger's shadow after a decade+ of irrelevance (Rex Grossman anyone), even moral victories carry weight. Their fans are probably ecstatic about even making it to the playoffs…

The whole scene out there was just a madhouse. I haven't been to a game like that since the NFC championship game against the Lions

Well I have been following the Bears season as a 49ers fan. They have had so many miraculous comebacks with under 2 minutes. It was the 49ers who eventually stopped the miracles and the Bears finally came up short…literally! 😂

That's what makes the night he has against the 49er D even more shameful. He carved up the 49ers like a Thanksgiving turkey. Imagine what Seattle will do. Darnold doesn't have the escapability of Williams, but Williams didn't even need it against the 49ers. He could throw 25-45 yard passes almost at will. Darnold has a cannon arm and better receivers. It might get ugly really quick.

I read a similar comment on one of the Bears' Fan Forums after the game. The poster mentioned that he doesn't like Cocky players,
and he was glad their QB isn't like that ! I guess the same poster(s) are okay with cocky comments from Caleb !?

During the post-game presser on Sunday, 14 December 2025, Caleb responded to a a Beat Reporter who questioned him about a risky
TD pass he threw into double coverage, after a 31–3 win over the Browns. Caleb responded, "I can make any throw," with a sarcastic smile.

I understand playing with confidence … but I've never heard Brock cut-off a reporter mid-sentence, and clap-back at a Reporter, and answer
in that manner.
